Danny Macaskill on the new Santa Cruz emtb

Great video. Must be nice to have the skills and experience to put that 48lb bike anywhere he wants.

On one of my recent beginner rides on some local mountain bike specific trails there was a ramp over a small creek. I looked it over then passed after recalling a recent visit to an oral surgeon to check my dental implant. He had just come from an adjacent room to check on some guy who's broken jaw he had operated. He said the guy broke it while mountain biking and he's been getting more and more cases like that.

Well done, Danny! Glad to see he is open to the infinite riding possibilities that are available with EBikes. ;)

Good to see someone post that video, awesome stuff.

I have always done crazy stuff on MTBs, and was proud of the fact that I broke a few helmets every year.

I fractured my pelvis last year going between two trailhead posts which caught my handlebars. It was kindof a freak accident and Im just not as durable as I used to be.

What was interesting was talking to the orthopedic surgeon who was also a avid MTBr, he told me quite a few stories how people had seriously hurt themselves doing really simple things on trails Im famaliar with and have always taken for granted.

Having a guy with his rep do a video on exiles is an amazing step forward for the community.

I couldn't agree more. The way to trail access is to have more and more Danny's come on over. I'm surprised more DH folk have not made the crossover. If your ok with ski lifts why not assisted climbing? Obviously the extra weight did not deter Ol Danny one iota :)

I had an minor incident last month that resulted in a bit of road rash when I laid the bike down at low speed... no harm, no foul.

Interesting that you mention your trailhead post collision... I recently cut down my handlebars by 4" to avoid any potential impacts.

Just returned from a week long ski trip in the Sierras... now there's a sport that keeps a lot of orthopedists in business ! ;)

He show what an emtb can climb.

He is a rider of the highest caliber!

Apart from that sheer human skill and genius, I wonder how much Santa Cruz had to pay to someone like him to endorse a product and do a kickass video like that? 🤔

I was glad to see SC finally get on board with E-bikes. Makes me curious if you will now be able to take the Heckler out for a full day rental at their headquarters in CA as you can with their acoustic bikes. J

Update: Just answered my own question: Their site indicates the Heckler is available for 4 hour demo rides if you book in advance. Put that one on the life/bucket list.
