Customizing your ride...

I know we all add accessories that are functional or upgrade existing components. Things like racks, bags, lights, mirrors etc. What I am talking about however is things that really serve no purpose other than you like the look. Consider it Bling for your bike that sets it apart from an identical model. Two things I have decided on will be a retro style horn and some spider valve caps simply because I like the look. Who else has made purchases that really serve no real purpose other than esthetics.

A little of both here -- utility with an eye towards appearance... My bike came stock with a Brooks-leather-wrapped narrow Velo saddle. And also stock, plain-tubular (but Brooks-leather-wrapped) handle grips. The battery case has a brown leather handle as well -- so when I swapped the grips out early on for Ergon grips, I had to get -- what else -- the brown leather ones, to help maintain the look. And I chose my first pannier (still occasionally used today, but later replaced by an all-black larger one for commuting) for the sharp look of the black canvas paired with a brown leather closure-strap running the length.

Nothing currently but would certainly add some bling if I found something interesting. Cork hand grips perhaps.

I've only added two things, one, the decal, for no reason other than I just like it and two, the mirror, which is the best safety item ever for a sloppy rider like me.
