Cranks rotating when the wheel turns

Again super useful. Any reason to not just replace the super cheap OEM freewheel with a still cheap ($30) Shimano 1200 freewheel?

Spending $30 for a better part seems like a much wiser choice than trying to service the crappy one.

Yeah, if it fits go for it !!

You'll need to make sure that it's compatible with your hub attachment point then get the appropriate special tools.

Finding out what's compatible and what you need to buy can be difficult.

Thread diameter, thread pitch, number of threads, lock ring dimensions,..
Or it might be splined with no threads at all?

That's strange.
I wonder how rolling backwards is different than pedaling backwards?

I'd would think that both should activate the cadence sensor backwards?

Perhaps that's so if you start rolling backwards on a hill while you're on the bike, the power turns on for safely?
The freewheel pawls disengage and just click when you pedal backwards. You can't apply enough pedal pressure to activate the torque sensor. I'm not sure why the cadence sensor doesn't activate. Must be a lockout circuit somewhere.

Anyway, as a safety measure, I always switch to PAS 0 before getting off the bike. Doing so also kills the throttle & cruise control.
