Converted My CCS2 into a Rad Runner

I got a heavy duty rear rack and a kids seat from AMZ, and I finally installed them today.

It took a while, but my kid is super excited to ride on the bike with me.

What do you think?

Looks pretty good, looks like the design is solid. This should be great fun for you both.

True story. Most rear racks cannot handle a child.

But, my rack can handle 310 lbs, and the CCS2 is only supposed to handle 275 lbs. So, I think I'm in the clear.

This rack: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074Z8PVNV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This seat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LPS75SU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
(See below for why I no longer recommend this seat. My son said i was sitting on his fingers, even after I adjusted the seat and slid it entirely forward. AMZ has other options, but I have not tried them, so i will not recommend them.)

The seat handle bar is not at the optimal angle. But, it works ok. Note: it's too cold to actually go for a ride, so I have not tested it out yet.

Thanks I think I may buy this for my girlfriend to ride on. Sometimes Shes 10 mins away and needs a pickup and with this I can take the Ebike instead of the car! I have a CCS but I assume it will fit that too

Unless you're both pretty light, you'll be above the weight limit.

The rack supports 310 lbs. She only weighs like 130. I wont be sitting on the rack with her. Also, I weigh around 170 total is 300. We COULD both fit on that rack!

I'm sure you're going to bring up Juiced bikes 275lb weight limit, but an extra 25 lbs on that is not going to break the bike

Just to update. The above setup kind of worked. But, even after sliding the seat all the way up.... my son complained that i was sitting on his fingers. My dad is a welder by trade, so I asked him to extend the length of the horizontal pipe. As the metal is quite thin, he used basic copper sweat... not arc welding.

If you zoom in, you can see the horizontal pipe for the rear handle bars as about 3'' added. Now my kid loves it.

I just wanted to let people know, as the above linked amazon option doesn't work perfectly.... unfortunately.

Also, I biked 20 miles today on level 0 with a child on my bike. I'm tired. But, for those of you who wonder, if it can be done.

Reason: family bike day. And I had to stay slow to stay with my wife. Also, I figured, if I had to go slow, i should get some exercise. Mission accomplished!
