Comical biking sign

Came across this railroad crossing bike sign today while on a bike ride (Island Highway just north of Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, B.C.

What's so funny about this sign? The tracks come off the road at an angle, making them especially dangerous to cyclists (who should cross them in perpendicular fashion).

Train tracks cause a lot of crashes and injuries:

Regarding the above crash, the woman on the cargo bike was carried away in an ambulance. She was so badly injured that she couldn’t get up to help her own children. She may never ride a bicycle again. Locals estimate that 200 crashes per year occur on this two block stretch of roadway in San Francisco as a result of the train tracks.

It's a very serious safety issue with very real consequences.

I didn't say that the message wasn't an important one-just that the way it was illustrated was humorous, and that's a good thing, because it's a sign that cyclists will notice and remember.
