Changes planned for my new Yamaha YDX Moro 07

I have put a few miles in on my new bike now and am now looking to add a few changes for my uses.

I am adding / changing:

1) Deity 30mm x 80mm lift bars for my taller body.

2) Front and rear fenders for the winter. I have found these so far that bolt directly to the Rockshox Lyrik fork:

8) Handlebar grips, bolt on for shock absorption and larger diameter hands. Maybe grip warmers too.

Any corrections or recommendations?

Well after that amazing deal you can afford these changes! With the saddle unless it's painfully uncomfortable I always give it a few months riding to see if my muscles get used to it before trying something else. Unless you have a well used favourite. But these all sound sensible upgrades.

The service manager at the LBS where I bought my new bike gave me the same advice: Give the stock saddle at least a month before thinking about a replacement. Luckily, it's working out so far.

However, a saddle that requires opioids should be replaced right away to avoid addiction. To the opioids, that is. BMA (bicycle modification addiction) is unavoidable.

Try the forum search function if you haven't already. Lots of helpful discussions on all these changes.

I like $40 ROCKBROS "wide" alloy MTB platform pedals with spikes for extra grip, where "wide' really means a platform elongated by about 20% fore-aft. The elongation isn't for everyone, but any similar MTB pedal with the usual squarish form factor will probably serve well as a first try.

Pedal spikes could well be valuable in snow. No need to spend $$$$ to get decent pedals.

I increased the rise like you plan. I wasn’t as hunched over after I installed the new handlebar. I did have to cut the new handlebar because it was too wide. I trimmed 19mm from both ends. The length was 720 and after I trimmed the ends, it is 682. Much more comfortable with my hands brought in a bit. My original handlebars were about 650.

Also to increase the rise, I installed this. I wasn’t immediately ready for the shorter “base” (where the 2 screws go in). This new one was shorter than the original and I had to install an extra 5mm spacer.

Fenders are great, but they aren’t meant for every bike. Fenders in the winter are very nice, but also nice every other season as well. I’m always getting rocks stuck in my shwable super moto x’s. Rocks get rolled up and out, away from me.
 
New to the Forum, also bought 3 of these and am also 6'4" and put taller, wider bars and a slightly longer stem on mine (Spank). Also added Ergon GA3 grips and Raceface Chester Pedals, all Purple like the 1991? YZ250 my buddy owned back when we raced MX. I actually really like the stock saddle, might be the most comfortable saddle I've ever ridden, but that might just be me. While I like the way it handles, the geometry is a little odd, long chainstays but rather steep head angle, it feels a little twitchy going downhill on steep, rough terrain, but is awesome on steep climbs with switchbacks. I still haven't got the shock sorted out and need to change the settings but I think the fork is fine. Setup from Water World seemed way off for my taste on mine, but I'm picky. Also went tubeless and run around 20lbs pressure, so far, so good. Only complaint is the front brake on the one I mail ordered had to be bled, and bleeding these Magura MT5's is no walk in the park. I think I need an RMA on that brake and have reached out to the seller.

I put the same pedals on mine.
 
I am a little late to the Party but Found one in Raven that I take delivery maybe next week !
Already have an Upright Commuter Electric bike but always wanted a Full suspension Bike and at the current pricing too hard to resist I did struggle for 4 days and even included the Wife up front as part of the process
I can see myself wanting to get some rise in the bars /great information so far Please Share Pictures as you Mod Away
 
Same photo as my avatar attached, but hopefully better resolution. I added "Jetfuel" headset spacers for bling factor and other items mentioned above. I also bought a Igpsport 630 GPS/Cycling computer off Aliexpress, ebike compatible. You can lay out routes on Trailforks and download them to the GPS, works pretty well. Only complaint is my old eyes could use a larger display/text and wish the screen was a little bigger. Still figuring out rear shock, seems not enough rebound dampening, but I really haven't even set the sag yet. Great value overall.

Looks a lot more Pinkish than I remember. We were Honda guys but my buddy broke his hip on a 90 CR250 at a Supercross and blamed the suspension/shock and switched brands. Suspension was the weak link in those Roger DeCoster inspired Hondas from 1983 until 1992? The YZs, KXs and RMs had KYB, which was better then. Honda owned Showa and therefore used their own inferior shocks IMHO. Thanks for indulging me! My first race bike was a 1980 Monoshock YZ125 and I own a WRF450 now.
 
Regarding the bad brake, took it to local shop, it had bad seal. I contacted Magura, sent photo of brake and copy of receipt and they immediately shipped out a new lever/master cylinder plus a bleed kit. It arrives tomorrow. Excellent customer service with Magura.
