Change bike's front chainring to increase top speed?

You can go up to 52 t through bafang if I’m not mistaken.

I don't think it's a Bafang motor.
52T can be a bad choice and severely stress a mid-drive motor.

I bought an Aventon Pace 500 (commuter, not mountain), and find that I use gears 6, 7, and 8 almost all the time (not too many steep hills around here). And even in 8th gear, I am pedaling furiously with no resistance just to keep the assist on, maxing out at about 28 MPH. I could go faster on my old Schwinn 10 speed. The chainring is 46T. I would like to try 50T or even 52T to get a bit more speed. Clearance won't be a problem; might need longer chain. Any advice?

Thanks. My brakes work great, and I'm only aiming for an extra ~5 mph. I can adjust watchfulness and reaction time, if that's the concern.
