Hi.

I have an e-bike Moustache Samedi 27 open road 5 with a Bosch performance line motor, not the CX.

I am 68 years old and speed is not impotant to me. I have in my road trip, 2 big paved hills.

I was wondering if I change my 15t for a 14t will I see a big difference when I climb those hills ?

Thanks for your info.

P.s: sorry for my english I usually speak french.

John …
No, you will not experience a big difference.

It will be a bit like losing your highest gear and gaining an extra low gear - but the difference will be a bit less than the customary gap between gears. It'll be similar to replacing an 11-42 cassette with a 12-45; that's not a huge difference at the low end.

The chainguard nut may not support 14t chainring. You have two choices here fit LockRing or try source 14t compatiable chainguard nut. Miranda make them but hard to source.
I've found chain can jump off chainring on rough downhills when using Lockring. Chain ends up sitting on Lockring, resulting in lost drive. Only takes a second to fix once stopped.

It depends on you. Maybe you can have a little gain with the front and a little gain from the rear.
When i bought my Ebike i had the 10 S cassette switched from 11-36 to 11-42 to avoid draining my battery climbing.
If you can do that and add an improvement on the front it might be worth it.
Either way by using a lower assit option and climbing slowly it will improve your range.

One other question, my rear derailleur has a locking tab to prevent the system from moving back to front. Since I only ride on normal road, should I lock it or let the chain jump up and down at will ? Thanks

I’d keep the clutch on, since I used to get chain drops occasionally riding around the city.
You can experiment and see if it changes shift performance, but it’s easy enough to flip the lever.
