Chain Link Breakage

I must report that I almost had a chain failure yesterday - one side of one link came off and the small rod inside was a bit pushed inside - google searching says it's uncommon but extremely easy to repair - all it needs is a chain breaker tool and I bought one from amazon.

I must admit I am a bit heavy built and am above the maximum weight limit of the bike.

Will update when I fix it and see how it all goes.

I`d question the quality of the chain, is it an ebike chain or ordinary bike item?

The supplied chain is a KMC Z7 Rustbuster so I don't think any quality issues here.
