My son told me about these, they hang on your helmet straps and are suppose to reduce wind noise. Anybody use these and do they work?

I've seen little fins before that clip to the straps. But if someone finds something that is known to work, please share!

I haven't tried the cat whiskers myself yet, but we were discussing them and similar items in a couple of other threads this summer, and most folks said they work well up to reasonable speeds (15-20mph). Beyond that, they still reportedly get overwhelmed by the wind noise.

I have found that helmets with straps that don't hug my temples to be the biggest source of wind noise for me. My helmets with snug straps that lay flat all the way to my temples are definitely the quietest by a large margin.

My problem with an bike is my speed. On an acoustic bike I probably average about 11 to 12 miles an hour. On my e bike I only average about 2 or 3 mph faster. It going into the wind that is the problem. If I go into the wind at 14 mph and it’s blowing 14 mph the it gets pretty noisy. I was just wondering if it’s a gimmick or it helps.

You mean "cat ears" right? I had never heard of them but looking up "cat whiskers" I found "cat ears" and ordered the classic version. Coasting downhill where I regularly hit 30-40mph for long stretches the wind noise is pretty bad, as well as riding into the wind at lower speeds. I hope these help, thanks for the heads up.

Cat ears work better than the square Velcro pieces for me. You will look “funny” but well worth it

Cat ears, correct. Cat whiskers are actually what the seals along the edge of a car door meets the glass are called.

I just ordered some Cat Ears (middle size, classic) and the polar ear covers. Will report back my findings! Thanks dodgeman for pointing this product out. The plastic ones I had waaaay back are long gone and I haven't thought about helmet wind noise since I quit riding road bikes.

I received the "cat ears classic" today hopefully weather will permit a test ride tomorrow. They'll be worth it to me if they work well enough but there can't be more than 50 cents worth of material and a few minutes labor in this $15 product.

I did a ride with the cat ears on my helmet straps. 22 miles with downhill speeds up to 37+mph and into a decent breeze at times. I agree with most of the reviews I have read - it seems to make a noticeable and welcome difference but it isn't overwhelmingly effective. Overall I'm pleased with it.
