I would love to find career opportunity in the the ebike world on the East Coast, live I MD, as I believe this is the wave of the future in biking for a variety of the biking market, including biking commuters, seniors who just want to get out and ride again, anyone with other physical conditions which prevent riding traditional bikes, and many other segments of the biking community. I am an avid ebike rider and believer in the technology and would be interested in any opportunities to work in this industry. I've tried contacting many of the well known companies with no success, but I know there are opportunities in this field with someone with over 15 years of sales experience, albeit in a different industry. Someone out there has to to monitoring this site and looking for a motivated person to push there company to the next level.

I too am a believer in this mode of transport on many levels..... and see this as just the beginning of something new/big.

Why stop at sales... with the low cost chinese mfr parts/kits..... you could put together your own kit, or complete bike in your local area.
AND ship world-wide via interweb.

GL.

I've been debating this move for some time. Do I continue my educational path and go into Networking and Cyber Security solely to make the $$$ that comes with that field? Or venture into the unknown of being an entrepreneur and starting my own business and doing what I love.

I'd stick with networking. Ebike sales are growing, but competition is increasing, and margins will naturally fall. It's tough to compete in the retail market against brands like IZIP, Haibike, and Easy Motion because they have huge dealer and service networks, and it's hard to break into the value market due to great products at low prices from brands like Rad Power Bikes and Juiced Riders. Going into the ebike business is a big question mark, whereas going into a promising field like networking/IT/security offers solid job prospects for the long haul.

There might be some potential in rentals, probably seasonal, in a nice spot for ebiking.

Q: How can I create an ebike business and have a million dollars at the end of five years?

A: Start with 5 million.

I take my compTIA Network+ test after this semester, so around December or the 1st of the year. We'll see how that goes; I'm just done with school. I end up learning 90% of the material from the internet anyways.

Tough situation. Interesting as heck, but who knows where and how much $ is actually there until you're immersed in it.
What seems like large interest here is barely a trickle in the consciousness of most non biking enthusiasts.
The market is going to change SO much as the technology grows that what is "king" right now might be displaced next month.
And you can see that lots and lots of people are rushing into this market.
Tread lightly. JMO!

there is an interest in e bikes out there ask Storm but I doubt he has a career in e bikes either
