Hello everyone,

Just wondering if anyone has the Burley Coho trailer hooked up to a Vado eBike? I am hoping to get a Vado 5.0 soon and was looking for a cargo trailer for it. I'm looking at the Burley Coho or the Nomad.

Cheers,
Ray

UPDATE: FYI you can use the Burley Coho bike trailer with the Vado series of bikes. I was a little concerned because I saw another thread where the derailleur was interfering with the bracket that attaches to the Ballz mount. I have since learned that there will be no issues with it.

Excited to be getting the bike and adding the trailer to it.

I love my coho (behind a Riese & Muller Delite Mountain). Great feature set, well thought out, convenient and very functional. I don't even feel it back there. Hardly effects the bike's handling.

Alaskan,

Any suggestions for locking it as you go into a store for shopping?

Bike camping now with my Turbo Vado 5.0. Day 2. Burley is great! I pulled up on the Vado with the Burley and Ortlieb panniers. Setup sparked a lot of looks and eventually conversation. I guess I'm the first to Bike camp at this location. Even the Park Ranger was impressed. Everyone else was in RVs, cars and campers. I brought a single 100 watt Rockpal solar panel and my Jackery 500. The sun hasn't been great but it was enough to charge my bike from 25% to 100% and keep my electric blanket, tablet and phones charged. I shared the weight between the Burley and Ortlieb panniers. My total weight load between the two was 90+ pounds. I carried the Jackery, ulocks, chain and chargers in the panniers. Bungied mattress to the Vado rack. The rest, Tent, Solar panel, tools, spare tubes, water, food and hygiene in the Burley. My neighbor just brought me some Vegan food his wife made. Gotta go!

Awesome! You can charge on the go, super cool.
Yep. Instead of buying an extra battery for the Vado I bought the Jackery 500 and Bluetti AC50S about 800w + vs 604w is more expensive and charges from the wall socket only. Not to mention the pain of getting the battery in after exchanging. For this trip, I just carried the Jackery and a single 100w solar panel. I should of carried my other solar panel and ran then parellel for faster charging because the sun was pretty much veiled by the clouds today.

Good question. No problem at all. You can use chain with ring around the aluminium at top of Burley and run it to ulock back tire frame and if you want one of the trailer tires to same ulock and and the other trailer tire to ulock front tire. The trailer tires are push button quick release.

Before set-up. That's the mattress bungied to the rack.

Which ballz through axel did you get? I measured my VADO axel and it is 12mm x 1.0 thread and 162mm long.
I ordered the trailer and the ballz through axel 12mm x 1.0 thread 158mm to 174mm.

But they sent the wrong axel. And now that specific size is out of stock everywhere. Before I send everything back I am wondering what worked for you. Maybe I can use a slightly longer or shorter axle?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I actually found the right axel in a bargain bin at a local REI. It was 14 bucks! I love the coho it is perfect for my needs!
