Broken key on Bosch system on Fuji bike

Looking for some help regarding a broken key on my bike. I accidentally broke the key off in the ignition while transporting
It. I had a locksmith try to extract the broken part, but it won't come out.

Looking for some ideas to see if it's possible to remove the keylock, or battery without damaging the battery.

Other suggestions welcomed as well.

You might be able to slide a thin piece of steel, less than 1/2" wide, down from the top and slide back the locking strike. Maybe something like a pallet banding or artists pallet knife. You would go in the crack between the base and the battery on top. The strike is spring loaded, and it will retract with pressure. Kinda like using a credit card to get in a house door. Here is a picture of the strike on the right side of the bolt. Another option would depend on being able to see the end of the broken key. You might be able to drill a tiny hole in the end of it, then try to put in a small diameter, long metal screw in that hole. That gives you a handle to pull on to retract the key part. If neither of those tickle your fancy, you'll just always have to charge on the bike.

Thanks for the info and tips. I can't exactly remember what that latch looks like that holds the battery in place, but I will try what you suggest and see how it goes. I'm going to try one more locksmith to see if he can get the broken key out.

If that fails I'll wait until I can get to the bike shop where I bought it to see what they suggest. I bought this bike last spring and I'm wondering if it's the same as the picture you posted. My charging port is the same one that plugs into the bike, so I can't charge my battery while it's on the bike, I have to remove it.

Thanks for the info and suggestions.

I ride Haibikes, they have a side charging port covered with a rubber flap on the lower left side. I thought all Bosch powered bikes had that. At about 6:30 in the video, Cort shows the flap. No idea which Fuji you have.

That's my exact bike, learned some things already that I didn't know about. Also, found the charging port you referred to down on the bottom of the battery. I've been taking it off the bike to charge it, but at least I'll be able to charge it until I get the key thing figured out.

Thank's for the link to the video.
