Bosch Performance CX noise

I rode a leftover 2017 Trek Powerfly 5 today with a Bosh Performance Cx and noticed a noise come from the motor when I got on the pedals hard at start up. Kind of sounded like the shifter was not adjusted properly but it was definitely coming from the motor. The shop had another 2017 Powerfly 5 there I tried that one and the same noise was there but not quite as bad. Is this noise is inherent in this system? The technician tried a few things to quiet the bike but was not successful. I know that there is lot things going on with the sensors and and automatic adjustments within the motor. Could this be the cause of the noise? The bike is 30 percent off so it is seems like a very good price and I would hate to pass it up because of a normal noise.

Bosch CX is notorious for being loud.

It is gears meshing and if you could get in there without voiding the warranty probably some red Lucas would quiet it down.

I have a Trek Powerfly 7 with the Bosch CX motor. For me to comment on the noise you're hearing will be tough because
'noise' can be subjective. I hear a whining noise when start, I but it is what might be expected from gears under load.

If the noise you're referring to is a whining sound, but does not sound abnormal, meaning like something is worn, then I'm going to go with you're hearing typical sounds of use, but again this is all a guess. Was your bike a shop demo at 30% off or was it a new bike. Bosch warrantees their entire powertrain for two years....You wrote " Kind of sounded like the shifter was not adjusted properly" That description
does not sound normal whatsoever based on my experience.

When you start from a stand still does the Torque Sensor Down arrow appear on your Controller, if so do you up shift and does the
down arrow disappear ?

I have 500 miles on my Bosch CX with no trouble whatsoever. I really love the CX motor. It will climb a brick wall. The torque curve is much different ( and wider) then the Bosch Performance Line motor which is built for speed. I have another Trek e-bike with the Performance Line motor so I'm able to compare. That motor has 1600 miles on it and it works like a champ as well.
