Good catch. I just edited the post to reflect that.Handy list, except there is no 680 listed. Jan1of1, are you sure it's not 580 or 880?
There are a number of parameters that have their limits set by the bike manufacturer rather than Bosch. It gets more complicated when a device is an assembly of major components, from different manufacturers, some of which are the responsibility of the component maker rather the the final product assembler. That is one of the downsides of owning an ebike - sometimes the closest dealer is 75+ miles away. It would be nice if Bosch would allow us to update our software and run diagnostics online. I can do that for my TV - I should be able to do it for my bike.
It is Pegasus Premio Cross Wave. Nearest Pegasus dealer is 64 miles away. Other bike dealers that sell ebikes, but not Pegasus, are closer. Most of these are reluctant to service a bike they don't sell, especially if it is under warranty. If Bosch would give owners access to the software we could do simple tasks such as: SW upgrades and determining fault codes, fixing faults, and resetting the codes. Imagine you are doing a tour away from a metro area that has a number of ebike dealers and you get a fault code on your bike. What can you do? Get a rental car and drive it to an ebike dealer (hopefully one that sells ebikes with your motor)? Wouldn't be nice if you could simply plug your computer into a USB port on a PC, hook into the Bosch network and find out what the fault code is all about and what you can do to reset it!There are a number of parameters that have their limits set by the bike manufacturer rather than Bosch. What brand of bike is this Bosch system on? Is there any shop that services Bosch closer to where you live? If it an issue that falls under Bosch's control, perhaps they could do the diagnostic for you and at least get the process rolling. You might be able to avoid the longer drive back and forth...twice when you drop it off for diagnosis and then again when the fix is done.
T'would be nice, indeed. That is one thing about warranties though. Many manufacturers will void a warranty if the consumer even opens up the case. Heck Apple will void your entire computer warranty if you open it up and install more ram or a larger hard drive. It is Pegasus Premio Cross Wave. Nearest Pegasus dealer is 64 miles away. Isn't the way Bosch does business common knowledge? I knew about it when I bought my Bosch powered eBikes from a shop 200 miles away. I haven't had to take them back in 4 1/2 years, so non issue so far!
