Hi , I have a battery assist Bionx rear drive with g2 console ..My problem is the motor is locked in the full charge mod. When peddling downhill this mod. Will charge the battery ,but almost imposible to peddle on level ground . Do I have an easy fix ?

The 48 volt battery is fully charged and everything else seems ok .I've tried 1st second or full assist even full battery but the motor will not come out of that charge mod.

I am guessing you mean "re-gen" mode. One possibility is that your sensor on the brake handle may be malfunctioning and the BionX controller thinks you are braking and therefore asking for re-gen.

Google "bionx stuck in regeneration" and plenty of responses come up. I am happy to say that my theory in regards to the brake sensor was the top result, so maybe I have a clue after all...

Good luck.

Thank you for info and input ,I am open for all the help I can get on this . I thought about the brake and disconected the wire but still no difference .As soon as I turn on the g2 a regular beep starts up .First i thought it was from inside the motor but it seems to be from the battery .I also just put a charge into the battery to make sure that I have full charge. I do have 48 volt output.

Any ideas for a fellow southern Ontarian?
Another point is that when I set the g2 to full re-gen .and pull the rear brake all of 3 lights go out on g2 screen .I think that tells me that the re.gen is being released, but the motor stays in re-gen mod.

Sorry I don't own a BionX system, so I'm just spitballing here. The brake sensor, does it complete a circuit or cut it? If it completes the circuit and you unplug it to do your test, you aren't getting the test result you want.

You said you have 48 volts with a fully charged battery. You should have greater than 56 volts on a good, fully charged 48 volt battery.

Thanks , we have two of these bikes with this system. If I change batteries they both act the same .like I mentioned , this bike has g2 electronics. And if I set to full re-con mod.all three lights go on and if I squeeze the rear brake or apply the brake ,all of lights go out .For me this tells me that the re-con. Should be disengaged but the motor remains in full mod.

I TOOK THE WHEEL OFF THE BIKE AND BY HOLDING THE AXLE I STILL CAN HARDLY TURN THE WHEEL .SO MAYBE POWER HAS TO BE APPLIED TO RELEASE THE RE-CON .MOD. WHEN THE POWER IS ON A STEADY BEEP COMES FROM THE BATTERY , THE RELEASE MESSAGE IS NOT GETTING. TO THE MOTOR. EVEN THOUGH THE G2 SCREEN SHOWS THE RE CON. IS RELEASED.

There's always a lot of resistance on direct drive motors. I have an older 500 watt DD and I can't spin the axle with my fingers while the wheel is off the bike.

When the bike is together it is almost impossible to peddle geared down with it locked in re-con mod. The full BatteryThrottle or assist will not work as well.
