Dear Bikonit Customers

Thank you so much for trusting us and riding with Bikonit all-terrain ebikes. We highly appreciate your Support. You are receiving this email because of the battery issues of Bikonit ebikes. We have always been putting safety concerns as a priority for Bikonit customers. In this case, we keep developing and testing every ebike designed and manufactured by Bikonit, Inc. Recently, the test lab detected a potential risk of the battery BMS system. In the BMS chipboard, we found that the ceramic capacitor may fail and lead to battery dysfunction, or even serious consequences if riding strenuously. So hereby, we would like to recall your batteries on board and do an upgrade to eliminate hidden safety hazards for our customers.

You may have the following questions:

1. What should I do next?

We will arrange the pick up at your place with the FedEx hazard department, what you need to do is go to “https://www.fthpower.com/pages/wanda-repair-form" to get yourself registered on the FTH website, the detailed process is attached to this email, please check it and follow the instruction to get yourself registered so that we can arrange the pick up for you ASAP.

2. Can I still ride my ebike now?

We suggest you stop riding your bike and take out the battery , place it somewhere outdoor in your yard for safety concerns separately

3. Do I need to pay for it?

No, you do not need to pay any penny. Bikonit will cover all the costs for you. And to show our apologies to our customers, we would like to give you a $100 coupon from the Bikonit web-store and choose the necessary gadget you need.

4. Will there still be any hidden problems with the battery when upgraded?

No. According to the report from our engineers and the test lab, the solution we are going to apply to the batteries will eliminate the hidden problem and get your ebikes as an outstanding all-terrain fat tire ebike again. All the batteries are covered by insurance from Bikonit.

5. Warranty

The warranty of your battery will be extended for 2 months after the RMA number was created.

.6. How long will it take?

Normally, it will take 7~15 workdays for the FTH professional team to get your battery upgraded, then your battery will be shipped out to you immediately.

Please do keep in mind once you have completed the registration on the FTH website, please reply to us with your RMA number for tracking and better service. After you send us the RMA, you will get the coupon.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. If you have any other questions please get back to us via a reply to this email directly and we will have a service specialist behind you

They have their own section.
I guess it's like posting up an issue in the Bafang site when they got the item from Luna?
An Administrator just locked out a posting on the Bafang site by a guy discussing chainrings because he posted up also on the Biktrix site which his bike was.
OK

I would say its applicable to the biktrix section as well since biktrix sells the Beast and the Beast and Bikonit are essentially the same just sold and branded by different companies.

I was the member who"s post was locked out by the moderator. Bafang and Biktrix are different sections but are closely related. If what we are discussing is relevant and not profane the moderator should not be locking out our conversations, this is supposed to be an open forum.

I find it interesting that they figured out the suspected faulty part - a ceramic capacitor on the BMS chipboard. Its also interesting this is affecting both the Beast and Bikonit, the batteries must be the same and produced at the same exact factory. That was a pretty good communication on Bikonit's part. I also find it interesting that FTH Power is handining the inspection and repair for both Biktrix and Bikonit, I wonder what the connection is? Well i have been happy with Biktrix's quick response to the situation.

not sure what the relationship is, FTH power doesn't supply this model battery, I inquired as I am interested in getting some spares or even a higher AH version, since there is plenty of space on the bike for a taller battery if you aren't concerned with aesthetics.

FTH replied they were only contracted to repair the issue because they have the factory and repair facility and it is the easiest way to handle the number of batteries that will be coming in. As I understand it they are replacing the BMS with a new one, not replacing the capacitor.

I filled out my forms (BTW it is one for each battery) yesterday around noon Pacific time. my Fedex boxes arrived today. at 10am. each battery has to be packed and shipped separately. FedEx will come and pick them up, but I have a FedEx pickup at my office twice a day so easier for me to give it to them, then have to wait at the house for FedEx to show up.

so far the communication from both Bikonit and FTH Power has been fast for this matter. For another issue I have with Bikonit, I can't say the same. been going back and forth with them for 2 weeks and still don't have any fix,

I was telling a friend that there may not be many battery repair companies in the US or Canada, this would be a good time to start a battery repair and refurbishment business, especially if you live near a major city because shipping batteries is costly.

Im waiting for my boxes to arrive on Tuesday. Hopefully the batteries will be good as new once repaired. How are you liking the Bikonit? I received my Beast 2 weeks ago and have taken it on the beach twice already. The thing is like a 4 x 4 on the sand just with 2 less wheels. The 26 x 4.8 tires do a nice job. The bike stays pretty clean on the beach except for the chain but thats not to difficult to clean.

I got the first round of ultra motor with Canbus thats not currently programable but thats an entirely different nightmare. I am also ordered a 38T Wolf Tooth chainring ( current stock chainring is 44T) for the beach. High gear is just much higher than i need on the beach.

I commute on mine 25 miles each way daily. bit over 1,000 miles on it since I received it in April.

my only complaints are the brakes, first set of pads are shot already, and out of the box I had to replace the disks because they were so badly bent I couldn't straighten or align them, I was told by Mark at Bikonit "they were normal" even after sending him pictures and a video showing they were bend by over 7mm between the 2 sides. they wouldn't even lay flat on a table, and the grinding noise was horrible.

my second complaint is the cheap ass allen bolts, I've stripped several of them. annoying as hell. I have built 3 hot rods and 2 motorcycles from the ground up (resto-mods and restores) in 35 years and NEVER stripped bolts like this.

Lol... Chinese bikes equals cheap Chinese quality. The same thing happened to me when adjusting the brakes on my other ebike, I bought replacement bolts on amazon. 7mm out of true discs is not normal. Do you have 2 piston or 4 piston brakes? 1000 miles out of a set of brake pads i dont thing is too bad, especially on a 100 pound bike.

I like the Beast so far, its great on the beach. My biggest complaint is the new Canbus protocol on the Ultra motor, I purchased the bike with the intention to program it for a smoother operation only to find out I received the first batch of unprogrammable Ultra motors. For an ebike that has 9 levels of assist Bafang programs assist 1 with way too much power. There are also a few other parameters that i would like to be adjusted.

4-piston. Not the calipers. It is the disks, I bought replacement disks and the problem was gone instantly, but I shouldn’t have had too, the company should have stepped up and replaced them once I showed them the issue, they choose instead to tell me it was normal.

as for the pads, again cheap parts. I have 12,500 miles on my Cyrusher XF800, I’ve replaced the pads 3 times, the original pads lasted about the same 700-800 miles. The replacements I get from Miles have lasted over 5,000 miles on each set, no squeal, glazing or grinding just normal wear and you could tell like car brakes when it was time.

Ask Watt Wagons. I shipped a rack mount battery to them for my wife's pedego. They re-built it with GA cells, and upgraded the BMS to one of their new BMS.

Yes, costs a little more.. but lower compared to buying a full pack. They provide 1 year warranty as well.

Well worth it tbh.

signed up for the pre-packed boxes on last Thursday when I received the email, received the boxes late Friday, boxed and dropped them off at FedEx Saturday (didn't bother calling for pick up as the FedEx depot is close by)
batteries delivered to FTH this morning.

so we shall see how long the turn around is. it appears the FTH facility is only 25 miles from me.

My batteries were at the FTH Power on 8/17/21 and I got an email from FTH Power yesterday I attached it below. They don't have the BMS yet to even preform the work. She also said it would take 2 weeks to do the repair and so maybe in a month we will get our batteries back. Hopefully

Dear Wanda Customers,

FTH Power an independent lithium battery service company has been selected by Wanda to perform a rework on your battery. Unfortunately we have not received the necessary parts from Wanda due to shipping delays at the ports. We are scheduled to receive the new BMS by the 28th of August. At that point we will start the rework on a first in first out basis.

If you have any questions please contact your distributor or battery manufacturer.

Thank you for your patience,

FTH Power
