BH frame damage E-motion big bud pro.

All the literature I have received with the purchase of my bike doesn't include aluminum alloy properties! My bike developed a crack just below the seat post clamp and i need to have this welded. It's crucial in getting the right fillers rods with this weld. I've reach out to BH through email and received their standard, they don't deal directly with end users and refered me back to dealer where purchased. Unfortunately this dealer is no longer in business. Please anyone with info on the type of aluminum alloy this bike has would be greatly appreciated. Other BH bikes (after researching) uses 6061 type aluminum but no confirmation on the big bud pro. THANKS NYC

Every aluminum bike I've ever owned has been six thousand series (6xxx) aluminum. I'm sure there's the odd exception out there. Although that includes several alloys, from what I understand it's usually all the information that's needed to properly weld it. I'm not a career welder, just an amateur MIG and Arc welder for a long time. TIG is obviously the way to go with aluminum, but a MIG will do it.

I appreciate your fed back! Planned on using 4043 filler rods which works well with 6061 aluminum alloy. Was hoping to confirm the 6061alloy. Tig welding aluminum can get messy if the filler and frame are not match right.
