Bell Stratus Mips Helmet?

Been searching on line for a good helmet and ran across this one. has anyone got one they use now? or could anyone recommend a better option? The Bell reviews seem favorable, not cheap at 104.00 on Amazon, is this about average price for a decent helmet?
Don't want to base my decision solely on price but don't want to get crazy either.
Does anyone wear a helmet that covers the ears?

If you are after a MIPS helmet take a look at the Bell 4Forty. (I have the Hela Joy Ride which is the same as the 4Forty).

I like to try a helmet on before buying. That said, Amazon has easy return. I have a Fox helmet and love it. It is light an has good ventilation. I think it was $70 on sale.

What does good and decent mean to you? Protection is somewhat of a given; every helmet sold meets a minimum standard. Ventilation you can either judge from reviews and tests, or by looking at the number and size of the holes. Fit is really important and can only be judged by putting the helmet on your head. I do notice a very large percentage of people wearing a helmet incorrectly; the front needs to be over your brow, not with it exposing your forehead. It is a helmet, not a hat!

Me, I currently wear a Bell Quest helmet I found on clearance at Wall World for $7.97.

I don't know for a fact but a 7 dollar helmet doesn't seem it would add up to the same level of protection offered by a helmet costing over a 100 dollars with MIP protection. I hope I don't need it but if I do I want to protect my skull as much as possible. Safety is one area that I kind of think you need to spend the bucks.

I think the Quest originally sold for about $40. But yes, MIPS should add a level of protection to certain kinds of impact.

One reason I don't like to spend too much for a helmet is that it should probably be replaced every few years. Even if you never crash, helmets tend to get dinged up from everyday use, which may compromise its integrity.

Good point about replacement, but still at 25mph a crash can be harsh if it happens and I want my head covered with good protection. Years ago a drunk turned left in front of me with his car and I hit him at 40 mph on my motorcycle, went down hard but my head went into the side of the car and put a 4" long gash, crack into my helmet. It was a good brand and my head was unscathed but if not for that I am sure I would have been in pretty bad shape. Knocked me out from impact, and some bad bruises but walked away. Bike was total loss. Every time I looked at the helmet I was glad I had it on. Didn't need it as in Illinois none required.
