Battery issues

Hi, I recently ordered a 48v front hub conv kit and a 48v lith ion separately, once I wired it up n hit the throttle I got an initial pulse of power to the wheel then nothing. The throttle has 3 indicator lights to reflect battery level and all 3 are lit but no power to the motor. Google told me that around 54v was max but mine is reading 58.5. The battery manufacturer told me that 58.5 is accurate for fully charged battery but I think it fried my controller. If anyone has any thoughts I'd really appreciate them.
Thanks

What voltage range is the controller rated for? Most are rated for 48-52v battery packs. 58.8v is 100% for a 52v pack. 54.6 is 100% for 48v.

Most inexpensive 48V controllers will run fine on a 52V (58.6V max) battery, so reading the label will not tell you much. There generally aren't any smarts in these controllers to watch for high voltage.

Check that your voltmeter is working right. Most inexpensive meters start reading too high when the internal battery is weak.

Check the label on the charger too. Should say 54.6V max for 48V, and they have to hold to that. You can also check the throttle voltages on the connector. Power/ground is about 5 volts.

Bad connections cause 90% of no run situations.

Unplug your power connector to your controller and measure voltage. I don't think it's fused from there to your controller, but that's the next thing to look for - a blown inline fuse.

Your voltage values are correct. Does not mean your controller didn't fail anyway.

What are you using for a cadence or speed sensor? What brand of parts?
Our Bafang unit won't throttle 'till pas2, or with the cadence sensor. What are you using for a cadence/pedal sensor?

I'm returning the kit u bought, can anyone suggest a front wheel kit in the $200 range that'll be compatible w my battery that puts out 58v.
Thanks
