Battery display still at 100% after 8 mile trip

My 10 amp battery did not show any decrease on charge level after an 8 mile trip on pas 3 the whole time. I am wondering why it isn’t dropping some on the display. using the hand throttle I could only get about 12 mph....do I need to bump the pas up to 5 to more throttle response? My next ride will be Sunday for 2o mikes on my 36 volt 500 watt system.

I have gotten a digital volt meter so I can check the battery charge more reliably, rather than relying on the display which folks have said can be notoriously unreliable. The more you know, the better!

It is possible your throttle is tied To pas level, some bikes are that way
That's the way my trike is from the same company. Throttle tied to Pas level. Makes me ride using two thumbs, constantly using the PAS level setting to adjust pedal speed and throttle speed.

What kind of trike do you have? I have an older Terra Trike that I may add a kit to in a few years. It was bought for my wife, but she doesnt ride it much. I have an 8 yr granddaughter that likes to ride with her poppop. After I get some experience with this kit, I may know enough to buy a 2nd one.

Well, after 10 miles and a couple of good hills, the battery gauge dropped down to a 66% charge level. The gauge is working...just needed a few more miles To see it move off 100%.

While pulling the first steep hill the gauge went down to 66%, but when I down shifted and took some of the load off the motor, the battery level went back up to 100%.

I am pleased with the battery and the lcd display. I would like to do 10 and a 20 mile ride on a rail trail and see how far down the charge level will go.

What amp battery did you get? What watt motor? I have a terratrike I might add a kit to.

I look at the pas level as my second transmission. I don’t mind playing around with the pas level. I drove a semi for a bit after I retired. Drove an 18 speed transmission.

I don’t use the throttle, as I can get more power with the pas.

everything is working as it should....I pulled a hill on pas 4 and the battery indicator started to drop down. You can really suck the juice out going up hill on a high pas number.

After the ride, the battery is sitting at 38 volts, so it must be at about a 60% charge level.

Mine is like that too, but the last 20% can drop off in three miles. Mine is Shimano and it is a common fault.
