Bagibike B26 fat review- cadence sensing done right

I am very pleased with this bike

500 watt bafang hub motor- not sure on peak
13 AH retention style battery
hydraulic brakes
comes with rear rack and fenders- no rattling on fenders issues with them
3 inch tires

it rides VERY solid and smooth, even on washboard type dirt roads, one of my best bikes on dirt- it never seems to lose traction with these cheap 3 inch tires, I intend to replaced them with exactly the same ones

the frame runs a little big- I would say a big medium to large
I am 5'6" and it is a little big for me

bike is heavy but very solid
hydraulic brakes

gets good mileage per battery

it originally came with a smooth pas system- nice slow ramp up but the throttle did not override

wrote the company and ask if there was a way to make the throttle override, there wasn't but they had new controllers coming that did have throttle override and sent me one
very pleased with the smooth and controlled ramp up of power in the 9 level pas and the throttle- the company did a nice job programming this

I do not like cadence sensors that take off quick in level 1/2 etc , imo the upper pas levels are for that
I know some others want a quick take off in the lower levels but to me this is a perfectly programmed cadence bike with the throttle full override

love the integrated lights and brake light on it

don't know what the weight limit Is for the rear rack but I have quite a bit on it and it seems fine

also comes with a big front bag on the handlebars that is very handy

will most likely buy one of their 20 inch step thru fat bikes also- has all the same components

Wow! You have a lot of experience on a variety of ebikes. I hope you don't mind me asking, how many ebikes have you owned? Do you sometimes sell on the ones you don't use anymore? If so, do you think the used ebike market is strong, with the bikes holding their value?

Nice review.

hey that looks like a well built / good priced ride..(from what I googled)
battery- saw one in bag / one mounted on frame//// ( I'm the guy who wants more than 1 aka reliability )
I like the step thru frame.

..nice...

lol JR I don't remember but 8, 9 , 10???
somewhere in there

I have bought a bunch of bikes used/ demo and sold a bunch of them used, usually do ok because of that but have lost some money
these are just for fun and not buying/selling to make money

my friends buy them from me because they know I understand the bikes, know what will work for them and that the batteries etc are ok on them

down to 3 right now with one on order being made
but plan to sell the flx roadster I have made into a trail and my Haibike Yamaha next month, have a friend that wants them

and now debating on buying an flx step thru- waiting for the 2020 to come out
and/or that bagibike step thru 20 inch fat...

realized I will be down to 2- 3 inch tire bikes and one 2.3 tire so no bikes to ride on the beach when I get to cali once or twice a year - dang it need 2 fat tire bikes.....lol

my hesitation is the weight on all these 20 inch fat folders... but the bagi is only 57 which is lighter than most of them...
if there was a 50lb 4 inch fat I would buy it for sure

trying to limit myself to 3 maybe 5 total bikes, the van is not big enough for more! :)

just fyi I found out the absolute bike shop in flagstaff, az rents specialized, so when up there in the summers and need another bike for friends we can rent them, they had quite a few available, large and smaller Vado and Como in both sizes- plus the full suspension mtn bike, not sure on sizes on that one but betting at least 2
excited about having that option

oojoe mine has the rentention battery in the frame, they come with a big handlebar bag which is nice, but honestly I have only looked at the 4 inch fat little bike and did not pay attention to battery placement on their other models
do feel this bike is well made and I am super picky about how cadence bikes are programmed, rare for me to find one I am happy with like this

ravi made the statement this bike is like an suv and I agree with that, in the summer my rides are 90% on dirt forest roads, this bike excels at that

since it has easy to source components I plan to keep this one, would only sell it if I found a smaller framed, lighter one very similar

I do not like cadence sensors that take off quick in level 1/2 etc , imo the upper pas levels are for that
I know some others want a quick take off in the lower levels but to me this is a perfectly programmed cadence bike with the throttle full override

I believe this bike comes with 12 magnet PAS sensor. If Bagi can replace that with 24 magnet sensor, it would make the ride even better.
Have you thought about that?
No harm in asking them.. GRIN sells one but I am not sure if it is compatible.

I don’t know what’s in it but it’s perfectly controlled and smooth, don’t think I can make it any better for me....
but I’ll think on that - do not have many miles on it since the new controller got put in

But the miles I did ride it last week were all spent testing the controller in the low levels
