Bafang Ultra motor for the ultimate riding experience

After 4 years of riding a Haibike with Yamaha PW 250 watt motor I have seen the light. With my new RIze RX I can go up hills at 16mph that I used to only be able to go up at 8 mph working fairly hard. Now I don't break a sweat. I wish I had bought this bike sooner. I've noticed most ebike with the bafang ultra motor are usually rather expensive but the Rize wasn't too bad at $2,899. The bike doesn't have top shelf components but it's a good looking bike that performs great. There was zero shipping damage and I was grateful for that since the bike travelled a LONG way. Took me two hours from receiving the bike to being able to ride it. I hope it lasts as long as my Haibike has.

Congrats on the change up. The Bafang Ultra is a pleasure to ride. I've been riding the Ultra for 2+ years now on my full suspension eMTB. Zero problems, always plenty of power to get the job done. I rode the Bafang BBSHD for two years prior to that, same power and torque. Still runs flawlessly after 4 years.

Another vote for the Bafang m620. As you’ve discovered, it’s the “Big Block“ of e-bike motors. Spare parts and spare motors freely available compared to other proprietary motors should there be any issues. And I’ve had zero issues with mine.

That is the same motor the Hemiway Cobra D7 pro uses.

I have the previous model Himiway Cobra Pro with the same Bafang M620. Excellent powerplant and soooo much smoother compared to my Radrover 750w Bafang geared rear hub. I can ride exactly the same with the M620 on PAS 1 up to 20 mph because of 2X the tq compared to having to use PAS 2-4 with the rear hub.

THANKS for your feedback. I am 95% sold on the bike, a lot of it is because of that motor and value.

I purchased my Cobra Pro last year before the D7 was announced. The upgraded specs on the D7 and color choices would have been my 1st choice if both were offered side-by-side for the same price.

I understand your pain, coming from a bbshd I find the Yamaha PW painfully underpowered on the road.
Bit its all in your head, offroad it is fine and on road I just pull in my expectations.
Im going to have one of each in fatbike form soon, so I can do a direct comparison of their abilities.

Spoiler..the bbhsd is faster, its 1500w.

Correct me if I'm wrong, the cobra pro is $3,999? The m620 peaks at 1500w in stock form but can be pushed to 2,000 with no ill effects (so I've read) Not sure how you would do that though
