Aventon Pace 500 original model, worth selling?

Good morning: I've got an original Aventon Pace 500 (not step-through-large frame, I'm 6'2" and it fits great) with just under 3,000 miles and 4 years old. I'm not finding myself riding it much anymore and riding a different e-bike, any thoughts on if it is even worth trying to sell it or just keep it for occasional rides? The battery still runs fine, tires are original and still look great, have had a few tune-ups (chain changed out) and runs really well. I'm not sure I would want to sell it for much more than $500 and even that feels a little steep. Looks like the new Aventon Pace 500.3 is selling for $1,500. Curious if it's worth trying to sell or if I should just hang on to it and ride a few times per year. I've got storage space for it so that's not a problem.

I'm in west central IL if anyone wants to take a look at it. FWIW: I was surprised recently when my brother sold his Lectric in a day or two at the price he wanted so there must be demand out there for used e-bikes.

I don't think they are worth all that much but you never know. I bought one for my son, new, so he could get to work. When he moved away the bike returned to me, and I noticed that the spoke holes were cracking in the rim. So I took the motor out of the rim and put it in a 26" wheel. With the Pace's battery and a pile of junk parts I built a capable ebike:

Sold it for $300. What I didn't like about the Pace 500 was it's terrible PAS (the all or nothing variety). A new controller could fix that.
As far as selling it as is, put your price on it and see. But with new ebikes going for $700 or less, and they are that fat-tired 20in wheel step-thru folder that is the market choice, it will be difficult to get a decent price.
Myself, I recently bought this brand new in the box. A mid-drive bike for $350 delivered:

The entry ebike buyers didn't want a cheap Trek mid-drive clone, they wanted fat-tired 20in rear hub drive step-thru folders.

I’d probably part it out and sell the parts online, but I don’t knowhow useful or necessary that is with a (seemingly) vibrant company like Aventon. In any case, someone may want it out there as a parts bike so maybe try to sell it whole. Again, my opinion only, but I wouldn’t keep it if I’m not using it. But that’s just me. :)

We recently got $600 on consignment for a pretty nice torque-sensing 2023 Surface 604 V Rook 500W hub-drive commuter in perfect condition with only 200 mi on it.

That means the sporting goods store sold it for $1200. Now sells for $2000 new (DTC) but we bought it new at an LBS for $2700 in late 2022, near peak COVID pricing.

Minimal fuss for us. Just put it on the rack and drove it to San Diego, 90 minute round trip including paperwork.

Great info thank you, agree the PAS is not good, i may sit on it until Spring and see if I can sell it for a few hundred.

Sell / Donate
It'll only sit and get less and less use.

yeah i don't have the time or knowledge to part it out although that's a great idea, its taking up space in my garage and i know if i move it to the shed it's just going to collect dust for a long time. maybe ill try and get it out more this fall/winter and then try and sell it in the spring.

consignment is a great idea, not sure where i could find one of those stores around here but ill have to look into that, i think i asked my local aventon dealer last time i was in if they buy them, and they said no if my memory is correct.

If there's not enough money in it for the store... I doubt you'll find someone willing to take up floor space with a consignment sale.
Also keep in mind that an ebike battery needs to be stored and maintained properly or you'll end up with a brick... and that it's also the most costly part to replace.
Set a fair price and let someone else enjoy it
