Not sure where this is going to take us, but at some point, our relationship with big tech needs to be re-evaluated IMHO. No one individual company should have so much power over so many.

I agree . Especially since it's something that usually ends up in a US against them fight . People need to look past all this Dems against Republicans as though we are supposed to be enemies . I can see that's a welcome distraction for what;s really taking place . Which is Censorship of all facts, opinion and or evidence that goes against the Globalist Agenda .
After ALL there aren't just American voices being stopped . That's just where the attention to currently focused because of Trump . There's Swamp Rats everywhere . While I'm sure many will say this isn't the place to bring this up . Where is ? Big Tech first says if you don't like our Censoring leave . Start your own place . Yet they banned together when people did to delete that effort . This should seriously bother anyone with common sense

Nothing says small government conservatism like *checks notes* forcing private companies to host speech they don't want to. Maybe Florida can pass a law forcing big tech to quarter troops in their home next.

After all that is just a site that allows Total Free speech > What they did proves their intentions . It's also proof that they have no argument So the next best thing is to stop you from sharing yours. You're only defending it because at this moment in time you disagree with the other persons point of view . What happens when that changes . Or what if it was you Big Tech silenced . How don't you see the bigger picture . Why can't you see this is an agenda to pit people against one another . Look at what AOC did . She out-right lied . Social Media is a choice. Just because you shut down conservative viewpoints does not mean you make them disappear. Why have you allowed Fox News to be on the air if you feel this way?

Stopping censorship is great, as long as they stop the censorship you want them too. Everything is 50/50 in this country. For some reason, so many people think that all filters should be removed. Hate and discrimination flourish when those that support it yell the loudest.

Nobody banded together to do anything. Parler lost their cloud hosting because they violated their terms with AWS (it should be unsurprising that private companies don't really want to host terroristic and/or violent content; they straight up told Parlers management on multiple occasions that they needed to remove that content to continue to do business with AWS; Parler refused, and AWS eventually terminated their service). Parler is welcome to roll their own service, as websites did before the creation of Azure/AWS/etc. There is no inherent right to easy cloud hosting.
Filing: Amazon warned Parler for months about “more than 100” violent threats
Parler's volunteer mods allegedly had a backlog of more than 26,000 posts.

The Florida law (and others copying it) are certainly unconstitutional, and if enacted (which they are unlikely to be) will be struck down pretty much instantly. The first amendment protects private companies right to host or not host whatever they want.

I saw some articles about Miami inviting tech people who are interested in bitcoin and Elon Musk, who wanted to do a Hyperloop tunnel there. It's cool that each state can have its own personality and evolve over time. I always saw Florida as this interesting mix of relaxed retirement + Disney World + drug smuggling in Miami. There's a really great Netflix show that I recommend about this called Operation Odessa!

That is quite correct. I wish more conservative users would deplatform facebook/twitter instead of the other way around. They need us far more then we need them. I do hope, in time, that conservatives will realize that.

Things that don't actually matter I can find the stuff I've always found . But other things that I used to be able to find easily . If I need to refresh my memory . I have to search all over . Or keep typing in different phrases until I find it again. If you paid attention to your own stuff you'd notice that .

Again. No one company should ever have so much control over so many. America is the land of the free. No one has the right to take that away from us unless we allow them to.
Churches still stand. Religious beliefs still stand. They have not bowed down to big tech. We have an active pandemic, so things need to change temporarily, but this is not permanent.
