350W rear hub motor, 36v 10ah lithium ion battery, big fat 29" x 4" tires, $500. Pics show disk brakes. but they're not mentioned in the specs. Looks like throttle only, no gears.

Hydraulic disc brakes. 45 pounds. $499 is before $194 shipping. They promise shipping will be lower, but that is the MOST it will be. Second battery for $179. They've got orders for 2250 of them already. 3 days left.

Sounds to go to be true. If I send them money, how do I know I'll get bike?

Any idea how much the bike costs them to build?
I assume they take a loss on each bike?
does their business model make financial sense?
Is the purpose for publicity or is it rational from an economic standpoint?
