RockShox intelligent suspension system video. Adding accelerometers to bicycle brakes is the basic idea behind Bosch ABS brakes used in BMW motorcycles. ABS brakes are an obvious safety improvement. Accelerometers are found in almost all smart cell phones.
Ducati and Audi motorcycle airbags video is another major safety improvement.
I think prodrive battery with an accelerometer is a better, cheaper solution for pedal assist(PAS) than torque sensors. I wish the $1000 torque sensor were replaced with electronic suspension and brakes -- to save lives.
In my situation, turning off Pedal Assist (PAS) is better. PAS is like cruise control. I plan to use the throttle as a turbo charger, when I need a boost to get up steep sections in a hill. PAS is a cost that I would love to opt-out from.
Acceleration(funny video), braking(video) and suspension(video) forces are explained in this Felt Equilink video. Just going over a speed bump at moderate speeds is scary when shown in slow motion(video). The subjects are complex, so I do not have time to explain adequately. i started a thread about Felt suspensions.
Wobble explanation and video.
The 2015 Felt Compulsion 10 is a great bicycle and value for use in steeper terrain because of the Equilink anti-squat and anti-dive suspension.
Understanding engineering concepts(animation) is essential for hills above 7.5% grade, or perhaps 30mph.
You can calculate anti-squat for the DUALe. Compare anti-squat to the Compulsion. I simply relied on my intuition, rather than expressing the two characteristics numerically.
I decided the Compulsion is better suited to my terrain. I would add the BBS02 to the Compulsion, when I figure out how much power I actually need.
