After riding about 16 miles out to Tobay beach, we stuffed our faces at a food truck and didn't have the energy to pedal back, so I let the X3 do most of the work for the both of us

That's one of the advantages of owning an E-bike. I used to have to watch what I ate or drank when out on my conventional bike. Not so much anymore. 🍔 🍟 🌭 🥘 🍺😁

Not sure what is about food trucks, but for whatever reason the food tastes better. Or maybe since we eat it outside with bugs, dust, and something other than Michelin 3-start dining ambience we have lower expectations. :) 😋🍲

Thanks for the object lesson!

San Diego is known for its food trucks. So high on our future ride list: Take the ebikes to downtown SD by train, ride to some of the better-known trucks, then hop the Coronado Island ferry for a several-hour tour.

Of course, "food trucks in moderation" is kind of an oxymoron. But now I know not to worry: Ebikes to the rescue!

Come to think of it, acute FTI (food truck incapacitation) makes a pretty compelling case for throttle backup.
