Use rear rack battery with just the holding plate?

Hello all,

I just got myself a new ebike and it has a rack already installed. I want to use a rear rack battery but do not want to use the included rack (which has two tiers).

Do you think I'll be ok just installing the mounting plate to my rack? Can't see why not, the included rack does have sidebars though.

I've done it. I did miss the convenience of being able to strap items to the rack.

Just installed rear rack battery with plate on a RAD rack. Drilled new holes in plate to match welded and threaded boss on rack. Worked great! Attached my bag over battery with Velcro strap’s does not move very secure

Nice! Looks good! I opted for a downtime battery in the end as the 25ah rack batteries was out of stock.
