Saddle-shaft coupling

I have an S2, which I love, but have been having way too much trouble coupling the saddle to the shaft, and keeping it coupled. Has anyone else encountered this problem? And solved it?

Could you elaborate a bit more? I have no idea what an S2 is for starters.
