Have you guys ever ridden chain driven ebike?
For $182, it can be a fun project šŸ˜†

Apparently it's not crap, just an older model.

Looks like older ebikes had it too.

Found a better view of this kit in action... this one is the 24V version though.
For the price.. 😲 not bad

That’s the old Currie Drive system. I had one with their 24v SLA dt mount battery in 2001 that I adapted to the ā€œred headed stepchildā€ Chiluminum 29ā€er I had built up.

It got me the seven miles up-valley to town against the headwind and back home thanks to the tailwind but that was about it. My kid broke the throttle, back then they weren’t such a contentious part, and I couldn’t get a replacement so I took it off, re-cycled the battery and eventually gifted an old friend with the bike. However it bucked him off and it has resided In his garage ever since. I see it once in awhile.

The drives were around for quite a few years and Mal Wart had bikes with them on the floor for $400. If you see one for sale cheap keep looking....,

Thank goodness you posted the second video... I was just about to pull the trigger. ;)

Actually, Micah is a great resource for all things related to EBikes... he wrote the book!

Yeah I was a bit disappointed because I was looking forward to see how this project will turn out.

I think the problem was the bracket though.. or maybe that particular kit was bad. Because if you see one of the videos that I posted, one guy doesn't seem to have any fitment problem .
