    BBSO2 Service

FYI…………..I did my own testing by going for it! No issues whatsoever in hanging the BBS02 out on the boom of a Bacchetta Giro w/700c wheels. With the battery mounted down low on a T-cycle tray, the weights seem to offset and the ride stability is not compromised.

Bought another photon and this one failed also.

Sorry to hear your troubles with the Photon and thank you for sharing the experience. I considered a Photon for a short while but turned back towards a Bafang BBS02 after hearing of issues with CYC. The BBS02 is still young with only 1000 miles but it runs flawlessly and is extremely quiet too.

Looking for a powerful mid drive kit.

Awesome information shared by those that have experience and knowledge about motors and controller programming parameters. It’s great to part of a group that makes riding electric enjoyable and as aerobic as we feel fit enough to do. I motorized my SWB Bacchetta Giro a couple of months...

Looking for a powerful mid drive kit.

I’m trying to understand the logic in why running at zero power causes excessive bearing wear? It doesn’t seem to me that putting more torque on the spindle/axle would affect the bearings. I too run at zero power quite frequently which now is of concern.

    BBSO2 Service

Nearly two years in, would you still recommend the BBS02? Which Bacchetta do you have? My plan is for motorizing my Giro and I read differing opinions on the motor weight up high on the boom.

    Tongsheng assist levels

Hence my hesitation in purchasing anything as of yet! I am also considering a motorized hub with a lean towards the front wheel for better weight distribution overall. Battery mounted just below the seat.

    Tongsheng assist levels

Thank you for the reply AD I currently sit at about 32lbs and will be adding another 15lbs or so. My concern with the Bafang is the motor weight hanging way out on the boom and would prefer as light as possible.

    Tongsheng assist levels

Do find the four fixed levels of assist adequate? Do you wish it had more levels that might could be individually programed? I realize the parameters are very subjective but my thinking is leaning more towards the Bafang approach with up to nine levels. My main concern is the 36% starting...

    BBSO2 low top speed

Gionnirocket, is the 25A a function of the controller regulating it or is it based upon the Amp rating of a battery? I am in the process of gathering things for a 1st e-bike build and don’t want to let the smoke out of any of the components.

    Bafang Reliability

New member here. Reading this thread since I plan on installing a BBS02 on my Bacchetta Giro 700c. Good to hear of the reliability of Bafang motors and look forward to the install. I will more than likely do a pre first ride greasing of the gears since it sounds easy just to be sure. JK
