    Kepler Assembly, Review, and Impressions

How has the reverse commute been going? Glad to hear it beat that 14% hill!

    26x4 Tannus Flat

Agreed. Does Tubolito make a 26 x 4 though? I can't find one on their site. Schwalbe Aerothan or Pirelli PZero either. Any other wider suggestions? Thanks!

    26x4 Tannus Flat

The original person I was exchanging emails with clearly thought there were no negative experiences with their product, and I was the lone exception. It was nice to finally get to somebody that was forthcoming with info.

    26x4 Tannus Flat

Here is the the latest reply from Tannus. By the way, there is no date of manufacture I can find. I assume I have the latest compound. Have been deflating/inflating twice a day around my daily commute since we have no info regarding how quickly compression happens. In my case 2 weeks was enough...

    26x4 Tannus Flat

Yeah, the stock tires might not have even taken the glass, and it's definitely all a bit of luck regarding how the object makes contact. Slicks will be more prone to glass, which was what I had hoped the Tannus Armour would help with. Just didn't happen this time, but I am concerned with how...

Here is an image of the glass and puncture.

    26x4 Tannus Flat

Took my first flat today on the Duro Fleetwoods, with Tannus Armour inserts, mounted on an Ariel Rider Kepler today. A 9mm sliver of glass was the cause, which I wiggled back out by squeezing the tread (it was still at the tread not worked beyond and through the Tannus). Still, it punctured the...

    Ariel Grizzly brake pads?

Just finished test riding the front pad swap. Initially less braking power until they had a few good hard braking runs. Any surface coating/contamination quickly wears off though. So much better and no turkey warbling like the original pads. Looking forward to seeing how they deal with higher...

    Ariel Grizzly brake pads?

Are they the Hyraulic Tektro HD-E 350 as currently listed on the site? They are fairly common pads. Check the item numbers on the bottom of their list: https://www.tektro.com/products.php?p=242 I just picked these up and am going to swap them this weekend. Can't wait for the pads they shipped...

    That is very good news!

    Next Batch of Keplers Shipping

Unfortunately I think they might be up against supply chain issues like everyone else. Still waiting on a replacement display for one of our Keplers. On the first batch, it seemed to be long stetches between notification, shipping label creation, pickup, and delivery. Hoping you get an update soon.

    Kepler Rear Wheel Removal

...also, remove or lower your seat. I'd edit this and add it, but apparently there is spam logic that will then hide my post.

    Kepler Rear Wheel Removal

If you ask support for instructions for removing the rear wheel of the kepler, they will share a video from the X-Class. Here are my tips after watching that video. The Kepler design is not like the X-Class. The fender and brake light are both too far back/exposed. Safely flipping the bike...

    Duro Fleetwoods Installed on Kepler

Yikes! Looking forward to hearing more about that commute! Also, I think I need to practice some motorcycle turns. Although I'm still heavier than the bike, the wheels/tires weigh so much that at speed I think I might just be turning wrong for how much gyroscopic force there is. Especially with...

    Duro Fleetwoods Installed on Kepler

@junker, congrats! We don't have many hills in St Louis, but we have some short steep ones. So far the Kepler has had no issues, and I am 225lbs and 6' 2" plus a panier with some support gear. I will say on the way home it's a constant slight incline with wind, and the Kepler might drop from 30...

    Duro Fleetwoods Installed on Kepler

I had these up to 26mph today, at just over 15psi. I ended up reversing the front afterwards. There are no direction markers, and I now have them reversed of the only person I found on Youtube. I reversed the front becaue it was diving in a bit aggressively on turns. So far it feels better...

    Duro Fleetwoods Installed on Kepler

Got the Duro Fleetwoods installed on my Kepler today. Also, Tannus Armour on the rear tire (using their recommended 26x3-3.5 tube). The Fleetwoods roll as nicely as expected. Have not had them over 20mph yet, and never could get an answer on speed rating from either the seller or Duro. We shall...

    Kepler arrived today.

Congrats and enjoy! I wish they mentioned the video, I didn't initally see it, only found after I assembled both of ours LOL. We both worked at a volunteer bike shop for a few years, so not a big deal. Just a handy bit of validation. One bike was pacakged really well, the other one didn't have...

    received my new Kepler!

I've got 60 miles out a single charge, mixed riding. I totally agree with @Roorbach, keep an eye out. In my romp to work I am going the MO ebike limit of 30mph much of the way and right turns across the bicycle lane in the city of St Louis have been interesting so far. It takes focus by the...

    Ariel Kepler

We have two Keplers and I would agree here. The 52v 20ah battery, 33a controller, and 1000/'1800'w (1716w max I suppose) motor are nice. My 6.5 mile ride to work takes around 17 minutes. If I can hit the lights right that number should drop, doing the MO ebike limit of 30mph when rolling on this...
