    J8 Controller Settings

    Can someone help with the function settings in the J8 controller menu? Some are self-explanatory: P0 = nothing P1 = units 0 (km) 1 (miles) P2 = tire diameter (?) P3 = power within specific speed setting (?) 1 - (1, 2, 3) 2 - (4, 5, 6) 3 - (7, 8...

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

Here's a link to a discussion about spoke replacement which includes links to places that can supply the spokes: Hyper Spoke Replacement

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

Well, I don't think it would be too hard to get custom length spokes to relace the hub that comes with the Hyper. But you'd have to know what you're doing to get the correct length spokes for the hub to line up properly with a 16" rim. If you want to pay the shipping from the midwest to Oregon...

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

You'd probably have to contact Hyper or their manufacturer directly to source the 10.2ah battery. Frankly, you'd think they'd just offer that one as the replacement instead of the rather lame 7.8ah version. Seems like they'd sell more of them to owners who wanted a more powerful replacement for...

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

Not quite. V-brakes, low-geared six-speed, grungy LED light-only control panel, 'on-off' controller, and a 36v 7.8ah battery for a range of ~20 miles on medium assist. If you're savvy, Hyper does make a scooter-style ebike (Ultra) that uses an identical-sized, 36v 10.2ah battery that will work...

    Rush/Cty Speed sizing question

It came in as scheduled. Unfortunately, I never got a chance to check the sizing. I was following the unboxing and set-up instructions, both by the manual and a youtube video. The first thing I noticed was a couple of small scuff marks on the end curves of the rear rack. No biggie, used a black...

    Honbike?

Oddly, when you go to the US website (us.honbike.com), it shows the full-size U4 as available. As to the single-speed drivetrain, seems that would be a severely limiting factor for the top speed of any so-equipped ebike. I suppose the logic is the power settings would be the determining factor...

    Honbike?

Any chance on getting a review of the Honbike models (www.honbike.com), mainly the full-size U4, as well as a subforum dedicated to information/questions about them? I know it's a relatively new company (at least in the US), but it looks like they may have been shipping for at least a couple...

MOSH/Cty Pedal Cadence - change gear ratio?

I wonder if the reason for the gearing on these lower-tier ebikes has to do with liability/legal concerns. Class 1 (PAS only) ebikes are required to be no faster than a 20mph top speed, and the least expensive way to do that may be via the gearing, i.e., no way to pedal fast enough to get...

    Rush/Cty Speed sizing question

I'm not positive, but it doesn't look like the height or reach calculator entries have any impact on sizing; it's seems to be entirely up to inseam length. With that said, the range for the medium size is 29" to 31". If accurate, a 30" inseam is 'exactly' between a small and large so you...

MOSH/Cty Pedal Cadence - change gear ratio?

Agreed. Like I said, $1520 for what appears to be a high-quality mid-drive (with a belt, yet) seems like a steal, to me, even if it doesn't have the latest model's USB port and Google app. And, unlike all the other Serial 1 models at Best Buy, it's still possible to order the Mosh/City (in any...

MOSH/Cty Pedal Cadence - change gear ratio?

Were you ever able to resolve the gearing issue and, if so, how was it done? I'm going to guess it would be as simple as swapping the front sprocket. The Mosh/City is an incredible mid-drive value at the current $1520 Best Buy price. Walmart has a grungy Hyper mid-drive for $1398. For a measely...

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

Good enough. If it's not a simple matter of just replacing batteries, I won't even bother taking the case apart. And, yeah, $235 sounds like it would be worth the extra cost to avoid the hassle and get a ready-made, higher-capacity pack.

    Hyper-bike Walmart online

Has anyone done the Hyper - Samsung 35E upgrade into an original battery case and, if so, how difficult was the process? My Hyper eride has degraded down to a 17 miles range and I'm thinking of doing the battery swap, but don't want to get into it if it's above my skill level, i.e...

Accessories confirmed to work on the Serial 1's

Thanks for the replies. The Rush City/Speed certainly seems high-quality. But Walmart just came out with a Hyper mid-drive for $1398. Granted, it's a chain derailleur with exposed wiring and no onboard lighting, as well as a substantially reduced range, but that's still almost half of the G1...

Accessories confirmed to work on the Serial 1's

Thanks for the dimensions. It doesn't bode well for me since I'm a similar, just under 5'9", 28" inseam, and also prefer an upright position. I'm also surprised that the Serial 1's handlebars are not adjustable for height; that's a serious drawback. The other big negative I read about was the...

Thinking about the medium-sized Rush City/Speed myself. What's your height and inseam?

    Looking for 13G-244mm black spokes.

Thanks for the reply. I may be in exactly the same boat with the learning curve on spoke maintenance, particularly regarding loose spokes causing problems. Wheelbuilder looks like a fine source, but I think I'm going to go with Marcus at Mojimbo in Chicago.

    Looking for 13G-244mm black spokes.

Could you be more specific as to what is causing the broken spokes? A bent rim? Are the spokes themselves the issue and relacing the wheel with an entire new set of spokes solve the problem?

    Looking for 13G-244mm black spokes.

Does anyone know of another supplier for the Hyper E-Ride City rear wheel spokes (244mm x 13g)? The links listed in the thread are dead and the spokes in the proper size are incredibly difficult to find (only need two).
