    Hydraulic Brake Question

I have new pads and a new rotor but a thicker rotor sounds like a great idea.

    Hydraulic Brake Question

We shall see. If I can find a better solution I will implement it. For now it's the tape. Thanks

    Hydraulic Brake Question

I appreciate the responses. I took the pads out sanded them, then roughed up the rotor. Next, I cleaned everything with alcohol and added one layer of Gorilla Tape to the back of each brake pad. Now my back brakes are almost as good as my front brakes. I went on to an owners group for my...

    Hydraulic Brake Question

I have stock OEM 2 piston brakes on my Biktrik bikes. The front brakes have excellent braking power. The back brakes came out of the box new with very little stopping power and the lever was mushy. This is on two identical bikes. I took them to a bike shop. They replaced rotors, pads and blend...

Manitou Mastodon Comp Fork & Suggestions

I'll try the fork at 120mm to start. I had a spring loaded 80mm fork so I'll see if it changes the geometry of the bike. The bike shop said that the Comp was half the weight of what came off the bike so that is great. I weight 207 and the wife is 126lbs so I asked my shop to setup forks...

Manitou Mastodon Comp Fork & Suggestions

Nice bike. I just had the Comp put on my bike. I'm picking it up this weekend. The bike shop ordered the Masterdon Comp - 120mm version. They suggested not expanding the fork to 140mm since it will raise the front end of the bike. How is a full 140mm of travel working for you. Did it raise the...

BBS*** Settings for a Smoother Ride

If you could find a way to get the set amps higher that would make a lot of us smile. I also don't think the torque settings are understood by many. How did you make out?

Need Performance Controller For M620 Ultra

I have the cable and was lucky enough to get the older version which is programmable. I changed PAS 0 to a very mild level 1 and played with some of the "Smooth Frey" settings I found online. I left one bike stock so I could test the difference and see if I like the changes for a perfect A/B...

Manitou Mastodon Comp Fork & Suggestions

I read some great reviews on the Bluto. Thanks. Looking forward to a better front fork. The spring loaded forks I have now are ok for pavement but not trail riding.

    Mid Drive Bike Suggestions

The mechanic at the bike shop is very good. He thought the narrower chain to be as strong as what I have now. I have to watch stretching but it takes a lot of riding. I think if you know how to shift and when to shift the drivetrain will last a long time. A geared hub would be best but there are...

Manitou Mastodon Comp Fork & Suggestions

I like that you are thinking out of the box. My bikeshop won't do that and they are so reasonable it makes no sense for me to touch the bike. The back tire is still QR which I will live with for one season and then make a decision to put on a new wheel. I really hate QR even though it is proven.

Manitou Mastodon Comp Fork & Suggestions

I ended up with the Manitou Mastordon Comp. The pro was a little expensive and I have to buy two of everything. I'll report back when I get my rides back. Thanks

Yes. It's a nice design just needs better components.

    Mid Drive Bike Suggestions

We shall see. So far both bikes came with marginally working back brakes, and the box came damaged with a huge scratch on the bike and the kickstand snapped off. Very low end components but I wanted a step through with the m620 motor. The bike is in the shop. I'll will update how things go with...

    Archon X1 Controller

I find the stock programming on the M620 motor to work fine. I like the linear power. What I don't like is that the motor isn't working up to full capacity. From what I read this motor can easily achieve 2kw nominal. Does the X1 achieve much better acceleration or is it just a mild upgrade...

Need Performance Controller For M620 Ultra

Ill check it out. There controllers seem more for extra range and smoothness. I want stump pulling power. The new Ultra is a beast and should easily put out 2k watts nominal from what I read.

Need Performance Controller For M620 Ultra

Yeah they are out too. I guess I will have to wait or maybe someone is selling one. Have you played with an aftermarket controller?

Need Performance Controller For M620 Ultra

I emailed them last week and they are out of the controllers doe to the chip shortage. I also don't love that I have to pull the motor and send it to them. Are all companies that sell controllers do it that way?
