My nightmarish experience with Rad Power.

Hi all, Just wanted to share my experience with everyone, to release my frustration but to also warn others. I got the bike Rad Rover Plus Step-Over beginning February. I took two rides on it, after that, it simply stopped working. When I put the battery in, the headlight and backlights flash...

Take first bike to a bicycle shop?

Do I really need to do all this at the very beginning? IF I was reading the manual correctly, it says to do so after 100 miles, not from the get go. Also, I am willing to learn all these things, but perhaps one at a time instead all of them at once.

Take first bike to a bicycle shop?

I think I will wait a little bit with the check up. I want to learn how to take care of it myself anyway. I will look into the coop thing, I know we have a bike den on my campus, but not sure how helpful it will be with ebikes. Any torque wrench recommended? This one seem most popular...

Take first bike to a bicycle shop?

Hi all, I bought the RadRover 6 and it is awesome. It is however, my first bike and I am a little worried that perhaps I have messed up the assembly somewhere. I was considering taking it to a local bicycle shop to have a complete check up. However, I was said it could be about $150 since they...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

Thanks for your comments. Yeah I decided to do the chain and throw in a U lock: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HN47G1M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The only thing I do not like is that chain and the U-Lock have the same type of cylinder. Also I am attaching a photo of a...

A lock for my new ebike

The cable is a good idea, thank you for pointing it out. I feel like it is an easy cut, but will at least offer some protection for the wheels

A lock for my new ebike

Hello, So I am getting an ebike (Radrover 6) this week and I would like to have some locks ready for it. The bike would be locked on campus where there is a lot of people, which hopefully grants some security. I already bought the following lock...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

I will keep the battery with me/in my office. That is for certain. Unfortunately no security or police stations near me. I will see if there is a nice parking space with cameras nearby.

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

In State college? I always assumed the crime here is very rare. After all, it's mostly college students... I am planning on leaving my bike for long times unattended, but always in very public spaces (near food hall/Gym) and of course with a good kryptonite lock. I chose this one: "Kryptonite...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

I decided to try out the RadRover 6. It seems to have the most torque, so should do best with hills. I also live near a lot of woods so there is potential to try out dirt trails. I was on the fence due to the fat tires, but ultimately realized that RadRover is the biggest bike Rad Power has, and...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

Okay considering everything that has been said here. I think I will go with Rad Power either RadCity 5 Plus or RadRover 6 Plus, not step through due to my height. As @AHicks said, the motors in the newer models are better and should handle hills better which I think should not be a huge deal...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

Perhaps I have overestimated how hilly the area is. I was talking from a perspective of riding up it using a regular bike. In all honesty, it is not bad, and the hills are not terribly long either. I do not think the hills will be a huge problem. So what I am understanding is: Mid-drives are...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

Wow, thank you everyone for your comments! I really appreciate the help. @Rome I cannot find any reviews of the bike and it seems to only ship to Hawaii. Am I missing something? @m@Robertson Thank you for pointing it out, I have also read somewhere else that mid drive is the way to go. Do you...

Commuting ebike in the middle of nowhere

Hello everyone, I am looking for a nice commuting ebike. I have a mile walk to work which I want to travel by bike everyday. The route is extremely hilly, which what I have been told, calls for at least 500W bike. I do not think I am planning on using it off road, so I do not think mountain...
