I am pretty sure that neither brake would kill the motor. Curious as to why you think they would? I would assume if you are braking then you won’t be pedaling and therefore the motor would not be running.

Thanks for that information David, so it looks like I will get a pretty good range on the 625 Wh battery. I do have a lot of hills where I live so I will see how it turns out.

Thanks for the input. I guess I can always just order a spare battery and carry it on the rear rack and swap out the downtube battery if I ever do long rides.
