    Roadster V3

But then why do I lose the ebike vs designer purse battle? Like as a family we can use 3 to 4 ebikes, I can't use her other purse. :)

    Roadster V3

Please let us know how it is. If I didn't already have a Solterra.2 I would get one of these too. Maybe I should sell the Aventon.

    Roadster V3

New version is out: https://ride1up.com/product/roadster-v3/ Electrek article: https://electrek.co/2024/09/12/ride1up-roadster-v3-launched-as-new-low-cost-belt-drive-e-bike-with-torque-sensor/ I like the 10-speed version.

    Is Espin out of business?

No really new products and pricing isn't much better than the competitors... I wouldn't doubt it. It's too bad... they had a really good product when they first started and everyone caught them in value.

Front page LA Times today regarding Ebikes

I blame Sur Ron and Super 73. We have kids riding in the middle of main roads popping a wheelie from light to light. Breaking arms and legs does not seem to deter them (saw one kid with a cast). :(

Anyone know where to find a screw on helmet mirror?

I use this one: https://a.co/d/3MK748C Very light weight, good view once you figure out the angle and easy to more permanently mount with zip ties. I've tried the other ones but don't find them as stable (the longer the arm, the more shaky the mirror).

    Ride1Up Price Drops

Their newer bikes have not dropped. Meanwhile, I think Aventon is raising their prices due to tarrifs?

    New Lectric Xpress

I’m looking at the Xpress and the R1U Turris. Very similar.

Does the Portola folding e-bike have “ walk mode”.

It most likely does... Usually holding the + or ^ on most ebikes.

    Is Sondors next?

That was in December. Haven't heard of anything about them since. Just like Electric Vehicles... companies going out of business.

    Is Sondors next?

I haven't checked in a while but it does look like Sondors went under.

    New Lectric Xpress

After using a torque sensor with a rear-hub (Soltera.2), I'm not too keen on it. Could be the 350w motor but after going back to my 500w with cadence sensor, I prefer the way it feels vs the torque sensor. I'm glad Lectric finally has a full-size bike in it's lineup... too bad it doesn't fold...

    Ride1Up Price Drops

This was actually earlier this week but Ride1Up has permanently dropped prices on many of their models: https://electrek.co/2024/04/09/why-a-leading-electric-bike-company-just-slashed-nearly-all-its-prices/ I always thought R1U was already affordable so this is good for anyone on the fence.

    Electric Car thread

You will probably have to wait for EVs to become more widespread and have options like removable/replaceable batteries. Current best case usage for EVs is local commuting with home/work charging or decent public infrastructure.

So what's the guess on the new Lectric ONE product coming March 12?

I think Lectric prefers dealing with hub drive motors probably for cost scale and support/maintenance.

    Electric Car thread

@PatriciaK That's what I say... PHEVs are actually the worst of both worlds because you still have the ICE maintenance, low EV range and the worrisome ICE/EV interchange. Someone on Electrek asked me why it's not the best of both worlds and I said because most PHEVs don't have 300mi EV range...

So what's the guess on the new Lectric ONE product coming March 12?

When someone else put this in a 27.5+" form factor, I'll get it. In this 20" space... I'd probably stick with the Portola for a folder which just edges out the XP 3.0.

    Lectric One

Already a thread about this here: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/so-whats-the-guess-on-the-new-lectric-one-product-coming-march-12.55329/

They should build these in vacant parking lots like office buildings where many went remote or outdoor malls that are dead during the evening. Or just retrofit parking garages that aren't as crowded anymore.
