    Bafang M600 specifications

Have M600 on FLX Stepthrough. Rated at 500W and 120Nm. Luna, for example, offers same M600 but with 750 or even 2000W and over 95Nm. Are the differences due to the controller? And, can the controller be simply swapped out to get the increased wattage?

Be aware, pedal-assisted bikes are NOT ebikes

I'm 75 and currently in hospital on back following spine operation. ADA says can use Segway, golf cart or ebike as alternative mode of mobility i ride my Class 3 everywhere NP. Never a question. Do keep with me copy of handicapped placard and relevant ADA rules.

    Upgrade Display

Other versions of the 860C (to include Luna) do allow increased speed. But have round connector vs triangular that I need. Perhaps will release US version down the road.

    Upgrade Display

Tempo, thanks. A model of the 860C does work with Bafang M600 and has triangular plug that I need. However is locked down to 25KM/15.5 mph. Not changeable.

    Upgrade Display

Have FLX Stepthrough with Bafang mid-drive M600. Has built in controller. Bike comes with 'minamilist' display. Are other plug-and-play larger display opions available? Hoping possible to connect to M600 using existing controller.

2nd Battery for G3 Trail - other FLX batteries are available

Likewise ordered 14ah battery from Max. Ordered 4/13 and received 5/14 (includes about a 6 day delay due to FedEx). $330 and includes connection mount with keys (no need but nice to have spare). Samsung cells. Perfect fit! Looks exactly like original 10.4ah but seems heavier. Working great and...

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

Wow, Thomas thanks for your post. As you showed, the Government's Notice of Proposed Rulemaking for the change to the ADA clearly defined ebikes for possible use as OPDMDs.

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

Thanks for efforts assembling this information. Your reference to the ADA continues that: "People with disabilities have the right to choose whatever mobility device best suits their needs." Golf carts and Segways are notes as examples of allowable mobility devices. I believe that an ebike could...

    Why not speed limits?

I introduced this topic and am amazed at the many thoughtful comments. I believe that safety for the rider and general public are the ultimate objective. Speed is a major factor to safe operation - just like for autos. So classes, watts and throttles are irrelevant. Setting and enforcing...

    Why not speed limits?

I've really enjoyed the various replies. Been fun and informative. Still seems to me speed limits would better meet industry and government needs. If Alberta decides speed limited to 25 mph, fine. If a government reservation wants to protect the flora and prescribes a 7 mph limit, good...

    Why not speed limits?

Toomanycast, you are so right. Despite the 18mph limit, I often have to all by stop to get around a walker with several dogs or moms walking three abreast pushing carriages. Maybe need to regulate dog walkers and moms! Bottom line, beyond limiting speed, need to ride cautiously. Class, watts and...

    Why not speed limits?

CCroft, thanks for your take on this issue. Seems regulators are trying to regulate the unregulatable. Limiting motors to <750W is subverted by tweaking the controller, limiting maximum speed to 20mph is hacked by simply resetting the tire size. Seems the real concern is speed and that they can...

Does the ADA supersede local restrictions on Ebikes?

The ADA states that "Covered entities must also allow people with disabilities who use other types of power-driven mobility devices into their facilities ....' Granted there are exceptions. However, if a trail is posted no motorized vehicles, can a disabled person still ride an ebike...
