    Affordable bicycle repair stand?

I'm not sure that's bent - it may just be a visual effect in the photo taken up close by a wide angle lens. The post on the one I have is pretty close to vertical. Ask the Craigslist poster. The knob doesn't allow for adjustments - it's just a bolt that pins the vertical post to the base in...

    Affordable bicycle repair stand?

Still like it. Sees a lot more use than my full-sized stand, but can't use it for everything as by design it doesn't get the front wheel off the ground. I bought it directly from Todson, the US distributor for Topeak, but it's showing out of stock there...

    Solution for bike-to-bike communication?

Another resurrection of an old thread, but wanted to report that we bought a pair of Sena R1 helmets last fall and we're very happy with them. No push-to-talk, just on all the time and work very well for us and we're almost always fairly close.

    Affordable bicycle repair stand?

Received the Topeak Tune-Up Stand X today and I'm happy with the purchase. I have a nice Park that I keep in our summer location, and an Amazon special "Bikehand Pro" that I keep at our winter place. Both of these are a bit of a pain to get out and set up and are more than needed for quick...

    Affordable bicycle repair stand?

Ron49 said: This looks interesting to me, but haven't seen it live yet... https://www.topeak.com/global/en/products/stands/1137-tune-up-stand-x Thanks for that update. It finally became available on the Topeak web site earlier this week and I have one one the way. All-in cost is a little...

Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

On the Specialized site, you can tell the model year of a specific bike by looking at the “Part No. ” below the price. The fourth and fifth digits in the part number are the last two digits of the model year. For example this is the part number for my 3.0 2020 Como: “Part No. 90420-7002”

Vado 3.0 New Motor for 2020

Same thing occurred in the Como line: 2020 3.0 is essentially the same as 2019 2.0 Class 1 with lights, the new computer, and a $100 price increase. 2.0 model was dropped for 2020.

    Car rack--which brand

Wow, have not seen that before. Is there some sort of quick connection between the lock arm and the tire arm, and also at the end where you connect the ramp to the tire arm? Also where does the ramp stow? Thanks for your post - very helpful (and more pics would be even better!).

Be sure battery pack is seated

I didn't recall seeing that in the manual, so I just went back thru a downloaded version of the 2020 Vado/Como manual and I still don't see it. Can you point me to a section or page?

2020 Como 4.0 -- "Walk assist" is more like "JOG assist." How to slow it down?

I used it for the first time on a steep hill this weekend with the bike in 1st gear (US 2020 Como 3.0). It seemed to take way to long too kick in but once it did it pulled a bit but not too much considering this old guy was working hard just to walk myself up the hill. 😬

Be sure battery pack is seated

Specialized makes a rack for the Roll series of bikes that fits the Como perfectly. This photo shows that rack on a small frame low entry 3.0 (the Lilac in the foreground) and kinda shows it on a M/L frame 3.0 in the back.

    Car rack--which brand

Another vote for 1UP-USA. I've had mine since fall of 2014 (so not a newer "super duty" version) and have hauled two regular bikes all over the US on the back of my SUV towed behind our motorhome. When getting ready to buy our e-bikes I called the tech support with their 48-lb weight and was...

Turbo Como 4.0 vs Turbo Vado 4.0 Step-Through

Age and relative fitness/flexibility will play a factor here too. My bride’s previous bike was very similar to a Vado minus the e-bike stuff and she enjoyed it. The geometry was similar and it had modest budget suspension fork and suspension seat post. When we tried the Como, she fell in love...

When you want to haul with your van

Pricey, but I'd think you could use the trays from a 1Up-USA rack the in back of the van. https://www.1up-usa.com/product/roof-rack/. They will hold the bikes securely in place if they'll fit back there - if interested give them a call as I've seen these things used in a lot of applications...

    Chain lock discussion wanted

As mentioned above by smorgasbord, this site seems to have a ton of good info on bike locks and I used it to make my decisions: http://thebestbikelock.com

Tweaking Circumference on Como Bikes to get REAL 20mph speed

I run the tires at 35-psi and weigh ~192-lbs; speed and mileage are very accurate.

Tweaking Circumference on Como Bikes to get REAL 20mph speed

Thanks - just learned something new. Went and checked ours and they're both set to 2190.

Tweaking Circumference on Como Bikes to get REAL 20mph speed

We just received two 2020 model Como 3.0s (US) a few weeks ago and the computer speeds and mileages are very close to our iPhones and Apple watches. No idea what the wheel factor is - I’m sure it’s as set by default when dealer updated software prior to delivery.

    Affordable bicycle repair stand?

I bought the “Standard” version of that stand 1.5 years ago to carry in our Motorhome before we got e-bikes. It’s a lot lighter and more portable than the Park PCS-10 I have at home, and as such not nearly as stable. The jaws are a little “fiddly”, but overall ok for occasional use on regular...
