    Giant E+ Tires

Get a set of surly extra terrestrial’s. Best tires I e had on stock giant rims.

    Skipping a Cog

Could it be a chain issue? Mine didn’t do it until about 8000 miles. Chain is pretty sloppy.

Anything that fits in my 88L+ chrome barrage pro. Pizzas are gyroscopically stabilized great in another bag from the wide handle bars.

    Giant Ebike Life Expectancy

forgot to mention I’m on my second set of rotors and maybe 6th(?) set of pads. Luckily the Shimano pads are cheap (compared to the road Sram, yikes!) All else OE.

    Giant Ebike Life Expectancy

About to pass 8000mi on my quickE and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Zero issues with the motor or battery. Crashed twice, once got doored and only had to true up the wheels. I got caught in a heavy thunderstorm the other day and had to ride home. Hit some massive puddles and was a little worried...

    Problem with latest firmware update

They changed it to where you have to hold down the button to turn on the lights. That way the head and tail lamps are independent from the screen display.

    Programming assist levels

I know the iOS App Store has the ride control app. Pair with your bike and you can adjust the levels in 25% increments iirc. Also good for updating firmware.

Broken spoke on my Giant Explore E+3

Unless you can cut it yourself, I recommend going to your lbs. they are an essential business as far as I know, so they should be open. Take your whole wheel in so they can size one. The quickE uses thicker gauge spikes and a nipple size I’ve had serious problems finding a wrench for, even a lot...

    Giant tubeless system experiences

Ya, the 46’s. I hope I can deal with the width, but you’re right, not many options, especially for tubeless. I’ve had the same issue with tire rub. Didn’t know about the hanger. After having a nail go through the tire and rim and still seal up for weeks, it’s really hard to go back to tubes...

    Frame Bag that will fit?

Has anyone found a frame bag that will work? With the oversized steerer tube and battery, I'm having a hard time finding a hydration solution for what is sure to be a blistering summer here in Texas. I really want to find something that will fit on the frame as I am already carrying a large...

    Giant tubeless system experiences

I'm late to the thread, but I just have to weigh in on this discussion as I've thought about this topic a lot. I have a QuickE and a ToughRoad (both 2019) and run them both tubeless from the outset. The QuickE has close to 7500 miles, and I've had a handful of punctures that required the use...

    ToughRoad GX E+

not sure if this is the place for my question, but does anyone have a front rack in the TR? I was looking at the somafab port folder version 2, but not sure if it would fit the mounts. Any recommendations?

Pretty sure it’s the wireless electronic drivetrain. Sweet!

    Explorer +2

You generally don’t want to put a lot of pressure on the chain while performing a shift. Keep pedaling, but don’t apply too much pressure until you feel the chain finish the shift. I like to think of it like shifting in a manual transmission car. The transmission doesn’t stop moving, but it cuts...

    Giant quick e newby

Even bike shops that sell giant have told me they aren’t tubeless, but like I said, I’ve been running tubeless from day one and they’re great. Just make sure the tape is good and maybe switch the valves out for something that sits more flush with the rim. I used a Stan’s valve, I’ll see if I...

    Giant quick e newby

Right on. Glad to hear it. If they are the stock wheels, I’ve been assured from a giant rep that they are indeed tubeless ready, have almost 3000 miles on them and no issues. Even though every bike tech that’s looked at them as told me they aren’t tubeless. Pain in the butt, but the results...

i just got some winter gear from aero tech Designs. They make the best stuff imo. Going out all winter! I am in Texas though 😏

think of shifting a bike like shifting a manual transmission in a car. You don’t want to have pressure on the chain in between shifts, but you don’t have to necessarily stop pedaling between shifts, just let off enough to not grind the chain. Also, if your derailleur has a clutch like mine...

I can’t recommend going tubeless enough if you’re not already. Takes a little extra effort and maintenance, and maybe an investment in a home pump with a canister for shooting air into the tire, or a compressor if you have one. Makes a world of difference in ride quality and not having to take...
