CCX broken down after only one day.

Hi Ebiker, That sounds a bit harsh and like you’ve personally had a bad experience. My experience has been quite different. I have gone both routes, expensive electric bike from a local dealer, and a Juiced CCX for about half the price. Both were good choices for me but quite different. I...

Update: fixed! (re: Frustrating Juiced experience new CCX)

Yes, niltohams, my experience exactly with my CCX right out of the box. I tightened the connector and used a bit of dielectric grease around it and all has been perfect since. Just a general view as this is a good example: I had several little tweaks like this as I got my CCX going (battery...

    Creak on CrossCurrent S2

Seat post is my guess, either where the seat attaches to the top, or where the seat post is inserted in the frame. On the Crosscurrent X there is a thin collar around the seat post and I think that could cause creaking if the binder is not tight enough. Might want to check it out.

    New Juiced CCS2 Crosscurrent s 2 followup

Glad it is working out for you! I can’t help but thinking we are looking at the future with our electric bikes.

Thinking about Juiced CCX. Anyone upgrade to 11 speed?

The 9 speed set up gives a surprisingly wide range of gearing choices, and I am often riding in the mountains so I use them all.

New CCS2 Owner needs trunk bag suggestions

It attaches to the rack with four Velcro straps, so you wouldn’t want to take it off each time you go inside. The panniers are clever. They stow in the side pockets, so you just unzip the side pockets and the panniers unfurl. They aren’t large enough for long distance travel, but are helpful...

New CCS2 Owner needs trunk bag suggestions

I bought this one for my CCX: Rock Brothers cargo trunk with panniers It is a clever design and the price is good. The storable panniers come in handy for longer items, and unintended purchases at the grocery.

    CCX measuring for right size

I’m 6’2”, normally ride a 63cm road bike, and the XL CCX is very comfortable for me. (I did buy an adjustable handlebar stem, though, to give me the ability to adjust the bars more forward.) To share the fun of the electric bike experience, I’ve lowered the seat so that much shorter friends...

Replaced CCX brake pads after 6 months

I’m glad my CCX has excellent brakes and that brake pads are inexpensive and readily available. I sure use my brakes far more than my “regular” bike. I haven’t yet developed the knack of knowing when to quit pedaling to drift up to a stop sign and lightly use the brakes. Seems I’m always...

    Battery Key (swivel type)

For similar repairs I have used the proper diameter drill bit. Pick the size that is a snug fit. A small diameter drill bit can be snapped like a pretzel stick to the correct length, the resulting piece pushed into place. It is a handy technique and cheap, too, especially if you use one of...

Does Juiced have a retail shop?

I’ll be westbound with wife and daughter to San Diego from Virginia. We are starting tomorrow morning, big cross country road trip. I’ve never been to that part of the country before, and a cross the US road trip has been a dream of mine, so I am looking forward to it. We’ll be staying a week...

    RipCurrent S - Cruise control doesn't work ?

Tried cruise control for the first time on the way to the office this morning- nice. Yes, on mine I must be pedaling, then hold the lower button, and it engages just fine. When I first tried it, I was concentrating on the button so much I instinctively quit pedaling, then remembered to pedal...

    Is a CCX noisy?

I can’t explain it, but removing the rear wheel, reinstalling it fully engaged in the dropouts, confirming that the wheel was aligned with the frame, made it noticeably quieter. The only revision was leaving the flat retaining washer disconnected from the Allen bolt on the nondrive side so that...

    Initial Review on RipCurrent

Congratulations! Now you’ll be thinking of all the errands you can run on your bike instead of using your car.....

    Is a CCX noisy?

At eight seconds and after in your video, I just hear the normal coasting sound from the rear cluster. The noise I had was only under power.

    Is a CCX noisy?

So I can confirm it’s a certainty that the extra noise is gone. My wife noticed that my bike was much quieter during a several mile ride Sunday afternoon. I would recommend if you haven’t removed and reinstalled your rear wheel, that you do, and check that alignment, and ensure axles are fully...

    Is a CCX noisy?

Yes, it is definitely not keyed to the axle. As youth noted above, it’s purpose appears to be a retainer to keep the wheel from dropping out if the axle nuts aren’t tightened. It is difficult to imagine a scenario where axle nuts were left completely loose, the rider too clueless to sense the...

    Is a CCX noisy?

Success! It seems I have fixed the strange noise (the whoosh, whoosh, sanding noise). I decided to remove the back wheel, more for practice than anything, so if I had a roadside repair I’d have done it once before. It soon became apparent that the rear wheel was mounted in a bind. One end of...

    Is a CCX noisy?

AZ, It’s completely silent without the power on. The whoosh whoosh whoosh sound is when the assist is on, either with pedaling or throttle only. I’d say it is in synch once with every rotation of the rear wheel.

    Is a CCX noisy?

Thanks for the replies. I kind of enjoy the whirring, but the whoosh whoosh whoosh, which sounds like someone handsanding wood, or shaking Mexican maracas, annoys my wife who rides her mid-drive bike which is essentially silent. I’m not helpless when working on mechanical things, but I don’t...
