    Walk Mode?

This is exactly why I use it also. I have the heaviest variant of the bike (xl frame), so about 55lbs bike with two full saddle bags for work commuting, it's not light. If I decided to get a good workout on the way home that's a lot of weight to carry up the apartment stairs.

    Walk Mode?

I've thought my walk mode was broken a few times because I tried to use it while the assist was turned off. You have to select an assist mode, then press walk, then hold down the plus button.

    Carrying a Como

Just as a summary: I store the straps on the center part of the rack, and I normally only use the strap that holds the bottom of the front wheel down to the cradle. If the front tire is low/flat, or for longer trips, I might also put a strap on the top of the tire connecting it to the arm. I...

    Carrying a Como

Yes, I have the arm in front of the fender. If all I did was that I think the bike would stay on, it would just move around more than I would like. I tried pulling/pushing on the bike while on the rack to simulate driving and the front wheel would come out of the cradle a little if I pulled hard...

    Carrying a Como

I went with a kuat NV 2. It's a really nice rack and has worked great so far. The only modification I made to it, so that it held my fendered bike better, was to get a nice strong velcro strap to strap the bottom of the front wheel down to the rack. I've seen people put the arm in front of the...

Portable, medium-high security lock suggestions for new Magnum Ui6 appreciated.

Two strong locks and removing all quick releases is going to be your best option. I have a balloon tire ebike and due to the thicker frame and tires it's not often possible to lock it up well with just a single lock. What I do on the rare occasion I need to lock it up outside is use my Abus...

    SuperCommuter Mods

You can buy a pretty cheap and simple tool to measure chain stretch, I would start with that. An 11 speed chain like on the Supercommuter handles less stretch than something like an 8 speed chain. I think for an 11 speed chain a general rule is to replace at .5% as measured by a tool. This is...

    Trek Super Commuter 7 - $3599

What pressure are you running the tires at? If you run it at a lower pressure that could have been the cause of the bead issue. It also could just be a manufacturing defect. It is annoying that the Super Moto X tiresare hard to come by, I actually ordered one when they were in stock, even...

    Trek super commuter 8

If you could get details/pictures of the install I would be interested. I have a similar Topeak click in on my old bike that I can't use on my supercommuter. The USA supercommuter 8 comes with the 350W, 28mph motor. Based off the specs online, the gearing is different between USA and UK (which...

    Trek super commuter 8

Although they have the same name and visually look the same, the US and UK Supercommuter 8 are pretty different bikes. The US bike has a different motor and almost double the max speed, so range will probably be much better on the UK model. One thing I have realized is that anything over about...

    Como 2.0 vs Como 3.0

I was seriously considering the 3.0, mainly for the speed. On my current bike (Trek Supercommuter) I usually cruise at around 22-24mph, and I am glad I got a 28mph bike instead of a 20mph one. As for the color, you could look at the step through model which comes in red. I know a lot of people...

    SuperCommuter Mods

Yeah, I think that was one of the first things I changed on the bike, especially since I wear size 14 shoes. I love the Crank 7 Large I have on mine now, although I have learned that you do need to be careful with them. Since they are so big, pedal strike is more likely if you aren't careful. I...

Creating a new accessory for e-bikes - win $300 for taking our survey

Good survey, didn't take long to fill out at all. I am curious though, it mentioned AR (augmented reality), I am trying to think of how that might be useful for an e-bike? You could put navigation, speed, etc, but that seems like an expensive replacement for a bike computer or cellphone.

    researching car racks for ebikes

The ones I have seen suggested most often are: * 1up * Kuat NV 2.0 (Court's review here) * Thule EasyFold XT 2 I don't have any experience with the 1UP rack, but I know a lot of people seem to love it I have the kuat and love it. Its not meant for bikes with fenders, but if you get a strap...

    SuperCommuter Mods

I know I bought the bike in June this year and it was just in stock at the Trek warehouse. Trek told me when they would have new stock at the warehouse, so I backordered one from my local dealer. I also found my liability agreement and it lists it as a 2018 model. Court reviewed a 2017 model...
