    What's your range ?

You must get a lot of looks with your dogs in tow. I like the bike a lot. Its very smooth running and quiet. Its certainly fast enough for me. I use it mostly for errands, but I'll go the "long way" to get some riding in. Haven't had a chance to do complete battery drain in one ride yet. For...

frustrated rant: the more i learn the more i cant find an ebike

I recently purchased an izip protour (solid fork) and know what you mean by the assistance levels. But once you find/learn the optimal gears for speed and PAS things will get better. Seems like you are sometimes using a higher than optimal gear. I installed the optional throttle button from...

Is there a term for this?

This is the level I try to maintain on any level, albeit allowing for a bit of resistance. When I am on a long, smooth and flat stretch (such as a dedicated bike path) I put my izip protour on level 3 (out of 4) and can sustain 20-22 mph with my crank almost freewheeling in 10th gear. My COBI...

Only 20 miles max range on new E mountain bike

I took a quick look at your route and I believe I see the issue. While there is only 100' difference in elevation between the two points, there is about 1500 - 1600 ft of total ascent along the way, most of it within the first half of the trip. If you are using a lot of assist up that incline...

frustrated rant: the more i learn the more i cant find an ebike

Don't forget to check warranties! I ended up buying a name-brand (IZIP) from my LBS. A big factor for me was they extended the IZIP warranty to 10 years on motor (though water damage won't be covered by anyone), 5 years on battery, 2 years on computer and lifetime on everything else. Moreover...

    What's your range ?

Did my first serious ride on my new iZIP Protour - 26-mile suburban loop with 900' of elevation gain. I (220 lb) used levels 0, 1, 2 as needed to stay somewhat cruising/relaxed (10-15 mph) and level 3 for about a mile or so on steepest parts of the 900' gain. My COBI system showed 45% battery...

    Recommendations Hitch Bike Rack

Me too (without the hashtag). By clamping down on fender, the fender struts are holding the bike up. Probably ok when entire bike weighs only a couple dozen pounds or less, but it worries me with an ebike -- esp rear hub motor. Will the struts deform after some bumpy rides? My guess is to use...

    Recommendations Hitch Bike Rack

I wasn't recommending a source or brand, just presenting the concept of using a MC rack instead of a bicycle rack, for about 1/2 - 1/4 the price. Even a cheap MC rack designed to carry 300 pounds is probably ok for a bicycle weighing 65 pounds or less. Instead of paying $80 for cheap one spend...

    Recommendations Hitch Bike Rack

@Ed D Racks like that will not work with fenders. However, if you don't mind dealing with straps, you can pick up a motorcycle/scooter rack (with ramp) for less than a hundred bucks https://www.ebay.com/i/322747278723?chn=ps Personally, I went with the Yakima TwoTimer for $263 (used-like...

Has anyone received their May pre-order?

That's normal. It only takes a few seconds to issue a refund, but after that a few days for the bank to post it. I get static from my customers when a bank takes a really long time to post a refund.

    Commuter Recommendation: iZip Protour

You may also want to check out the Haibike SDURO Urban Plus. It looks like the same bike with 27.5 x 2.4 wheels and maybe a bigger battery. I saw it on the iZip site for $1699 but its gone for now. Seen it at dealers for $1699, but strangely lonestar is charging 1749. This is it at my LBS...

Has anyone received their May pre-order?

I ended up cancelling my CCS order and purchased a new iZip Protour from my LBS. The battery is indeed smaller, the range is enough for my use but I got the bike for $155 less than the CCS and a lifetime transferable warranty. I'm sure I would have been happy with the CCS, but there are good...

    Commuter Recommendation: iZip Protour

Lonestar offers a nice discount based on total value of shopping cart. It comes to 3.5% for the bike alone. My LBS matched their price. I don't think there is a difference in year. Perhaps you can capitalize on that shipping calculation ;)

    Commuter Recommendation: iZip Protour

In case you may have missed it, iZip is closing out their E3 Protour. Closeout price is $1599. I cancelled my Juiced Bike order ($1699 - 6-8 week wait) and picked one up today at my LBS for $1543 with a lifetime transferable warranty and lifetime free adjustments. I don't know of any major...

Current replacement battery option for a 2015 Dash.

I have a related question. The Protour comes with 48/8.7 and can be repacked as 48/10.5 or 36/21 for $520 (probably same vendor for OP). Do you think the extra Wh of the 21Ah version is worth the lower voltage? Would I be sacrificing power for range?

When you hope for the best, but expect the worst you can overcome obstacles without anger or frustration. In the context of the thread "Talk me out of cancelling...." it means: DO NOT cancel. If you receive a bad battery or have to wait an extra month there is no anger or disappointment. If all...
