    Keeping it Secure

I live in a condo with a subterranean garage. I use the Frame lock, the chain that plugs into the frame lock, a U-lock, and a really long 12mm hardened chain that wraps around a concrete pillar. They are all made by Abus and cost over $500 in locks and chains. Los Angeles area is horrible...

    Keeping it Secure

I'm not a fan of GPS type devices. Another device to keep charged. Usually involves a monthly fee too. I've been to horrible places, such as downtown Los Angeles and left my bike for an entire day and it was still there. Locking it up properly is a big key! Have no idea why Frame Locks...

A little customization for our 4-legged friends

Small dogs are easy. They fit into small baskets. Large dogs need a trailer or a bakfiet type cargo bike (at the cost of losing maneuverability). Found the perfect solution for my medium sized dog (50 lbs) and her little sister (20 lbs). I have the Cero-One e-bike and just added a plastic...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

Since there was a hole in the tube, the air was already out. Others suggested it would be easier to break the bead if there is some air in the tube. But this was not possible. I used a clamp and it would slide off as I tightened it. The tire would eventually squish on both sides. The damn...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

As stated, the local bike shop finally broke the bead. On one side. I brought it home and thought it would be a good idea to break the bead on the other side too. I got a bucket of hot water with dish soap and soaked the wheel for over an hour. I added a teapot of boiling water to it after...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

There was no way to fit anything between the tire and rim. Levers would not fit. Tried screwdrivers and panel poppers, but they started to damage the tire. If a lever would have fit between the two, it would have broken the seal. But it was too tight. This was attempted by me, the bike...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

No. I used talcum powder to put everything back together. Would like to wait a couple of weeks before attempting to take it off again. Wanted it to seal with some time before retrying. I'm confident it could be fixed with a plug/patch on a tubeless tire. But I highly doubt it would self...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

Since I live in a condo and have a small patio, I'd rather not go tubeless due to the mess! If I had a home with a private garage, I would definitely reconsider. Also, the tires/rims don't mention anything about being tubeless compatible.

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

Hi Mike. I've been mountain biking for 30 years. I currently have a 2018 Cannondale Scalpel (regular bike) and a Haibike Full 9 6.5 (love them both and ride them often). I've owned Yeti, Trek, Specialized, Rocky Mountain, etc. in the past. I'm also a road cyclist with a Trek Emonda SLR 8.5...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

Holy cow! That's EXACTLY what I need. Never knew such a thing existed. I'm buying one! And on the 2nd topic, I actually like Presta valves. But 20" tubes with Presta aren't available in the U.S. (or they're very expensive). Most are available in Europe for cheap, but shipping expense and...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

My LBS recommended talcum powder. I purchased some and applied it. Will wait a few days to see if I can take it apart again. They also suggested using talcum powder on all tubes to keep it from rotting.

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

I appreciate all the replies. This issue has nothing to do with tire levers or using screw drivers. I've encountered difficult tires in the past and have the Pedros downhill lever for those instances. This is an issue with unseating the beat. All attempts at inserting anything between the...

Fixing a flat tire on the road is impossible. Should I change my wheels and tire?

In the past, I've had two Haibikes and it was very easy to fix a flat on the road. Just carry the usual spare tube, tire levers, and a pump/co2. No problem. However, my new e-bike comes with the Alex Rims and Shwalbe Big Ben Plus tires. I've seen this combo on other e-bikes as well. These...

Yamaha, would you please give us REAL utility ebikes?

The lack of true utility bikes is astonishing. I searched and did a lot of research. Finally pulled the plug and bought a Cero One. Only a day old, but I'm happy with it so far (other than it was a bitch to change a flat tire that I got on the first day!).

    SDURO 48t chainring conversion

Thanks Gdogg. My bike is a 1x9, so no front derailleur - only one chainring. And I'll see if my stock chain will fit a 44 tooth. Keeping my fingers crossed!

    SDURO 48t chainring conversion

Thanks for the update. I'll do some searching. I hadn't thought about the chain. Any possible way to just add a few links to a KMC or would I need to buy a whole new chain to upgrade from 38 to 44T?

    SDURO 48t chainring conversion

My apologies for waking up this older thread. Just wanted to know if the OP every made any changes and the results. I have the 2017 SDURO Cross 4.0 (with Yamaha PW motor). I am not going to delimit the motor (I may re-think this in the future, but unlikely). I would also like to change the...
