Because I only care about EMTB's.

Agree, however in North Carolina USFS has "No Ebikes" signs on trails. All of the best USF trails in the mountains are off limits. Do people ride them - yes. Will a ranger come and talk with you - yes.

Yes, the consumer law defines the product but a case can be made that consumers have expectations to use the product as it is sold (a bicycle) and treat it accordingly. This would apply to public areas as they would default to Congress authority to regulate interstate commerce. Preventing a...

    USDA Forest Service Wants Comments

Yes but the policy of USFS is that they are currently motorized. Most private areas follow the USFS designation, where the USFS leads they follow. Changing their policy goes a long way to emtb acceptance.

Thank you for your concern and for bringing this to our attention. The comment you see in Dave's name was not made by Dave and does not represent IMBA. It is fraudulent. We have contacted the Forest Service to have the comment removed. IMBA supports trail access for Class 1 eMTBs and supports...

Yeah - I get it. The Levo SL is different for size but I would not have a problem with most of the North Shore trails in the video on any of my bikes. The longer ones like the Trek would be hardest to manage. From the video the skinny and the short turn on the wood feature would be the hardest...

Are you high? An emtb is meant to be a bicycle and ride on all singletrack. I am SUPER excited about this comment period for USFS and cannot wait to ride legally all that technical singletrack.

Rain and the e-bike on a Hitch Rack

The Levo has no throttle nor display but the Intuvia or Purion will not have a problem. Rain will not be an issue for the Levo - it's much like the Trek Powerfly and meant for singletrack not greenway riding. I would say unless your getting it under three feet of water you are not going to have...

Rain and the e-bike on a Hitch Rack

Trek Powerfly - Take the battery off and rain won't bother the bike or the terminals. I've done it this way for countless trips without a problem.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

Yes, there were quite a few shops like this around and GIANT needs to hear this. I wouldn't go to them for anything as well. Complaints like this might prompt Giant to make changes.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

Call Giant and ask for another shop, explain your issue. They would want to know regardless. Also, Bulls dealers service a bunch of different motors not sure if Yamaha is one of them. Lastyear I was driving a bit over an hour for a Trek shop I trusted. Now I have two shops with experience with...

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

I would contact Giant and have a word with them. Some Trek dealers in my area don't carry or don't support emtb's but the ones that do are getting better and better. I have two good Trek stores for maintenance and issues.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

I've purchased a heart monitor and recorded some rides. I feel like these types of studies are hiding the facts. Riders of EMTB's can certainly get a BETTER aerobic exercise than on a regular bike. It's baffling but it's completely true and any person who is riding an EMTB at their limits knows...

A downhill guy gave me advice and I picked up some that had an irregular pattern with squareish open next to regular rubber and I have not have numbness since. These

    Best dual-suspension trail bike...

I remember when the light bulb went off for me, I learned how to pre-load. Getting the down motion before going up was key for me. If you can get your front wheel over it, you can clean it. I have built up quite a bit of upper body strength since riding.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

I don't understand this test. Are they riding the same speed, the same times? I know riding my EMTB my heart rate is higher and consistent but riding my regular bike FEELS harder. On the EMTB I don't stop, don't slow I just turn cranks. On the road there is literally no difference from a regular...

    My Closest Trail

I moved in July and found some new to me trails. I like having a fun spot within a few minutes drive or ride. Here's excerpts of me learning them last month. What's your closest trail like? EMTB - NC

e-MTB - Flats or Clipped In?

So,,, I broke my flats. Raceface pedals on a slight hill without power I was standing up and snapped the chromoly axel. Nice gouge in my calf and I wasn't happy. I asked for a stout replacement and got the Shimano Saint downhill pedals. Expensive but they feel GREAT! I also have to say even...
