Bafang BBS 02 750w strange problem - No Power?

We seem to have lift-off! Took the bike inside and prised apart all those multi-pin connectors on the loom, refitted and all back working as it should. Not being able to pin it down to one particular thing however is worrying... maybe the freeze/thaw/damp had got into the loom - don`t know, will...

Bafang BBS 02 750w strange problem - No Power?

Took the battery off and fitted it to my other BBSHD bike, it`s perfect, all ok there, battery ruled out. So it looks like an investigation into the loom or motor? The bike has sat in the shed for a couple of months with temps down to -7C then mild/damp weather, maybe shorting out something? As...

Bafang BBS 02 750w strange problem - No Power?

Shark type Case with standard two pin connector. When i attach the battery to the bike everything seems `dead`, the `fuel guage leds` dont work..... off the bike the battery appears normal, leds work and reading 53v. So theres an issue elsewhere, loom or motor .... i`m still think `short` that...

Bafang BBS 02 750w strange problem - No Power?

Went to switch on the bike after a month or so stored in the shed, held the usual button in but nothing on the display. Then checked the 17.5 ah battery - no led lights! Thought it was maybe the battery, took it off checked again it lit up 3 bars out of four and read out 53.3 V. But when i put...

Trying to construct a custom cassette

thanks pxpaulx, the point is i don`t want 7 speeds, at the most i want five only, possibly four. It`s how to get them spaced out on the existing cassette and what spacers and where to use them etc. I have an Alfine 8 on my other BBS02 and it`s always a case of double shifting

Trying to construct a custom cassette

In the process of putting the final touches to a second BBS build, this time the HD version, and to be honest all i would need with this thing is five cogs in the rear at the very most, the torque with the HD is something else. It`s a complete waste of time clicking through them all. There`s a...

BBS HD build & KMC chain

Just finishing off my BBS HD build and i`ve had an issue with a new KMC chain, it`s just too short!, 116 links - my fault really. The chainwheel is 46T and the cassette is 7 spd 11 - 34T so trying to get up onto the rear 34T is just impossible. So, should i lengthen it, would that then be a...

    Chain suggestions for the BBSHD?

Will be expecting my BBSHD kit to arrive in a week or so, in the meantime i`m looking at a suitable chain. I also have a BBS02 build that i put a KMC X9 chain on, is there anything else you`d recommend that will take the extra torque? Should say i`ll also be replacing the cassette with a 7...

Very beginner advice for hills, such as getting started on one.

As you approach those junctions get the bike into its lowest gear on the rear derailleur. Put your pedal to the top, push off and throttle at the same time. That should get you going !

New build, Mid Drive or Hub?

Have just bought this one for my second build, it`s a british built Whyte Malvern 29er, ticks most boxes for what i need, hydraulic disc brakes, front sus, 700c wheels etc having previously done a BBS02 750w i`m tempted to go for the HD version again but looking at some of the hub...

Mid Drive with a 3 speed IGH

<---Same here, Alfine 8 along with the BBS02 750w. What cog have you on the Alfine? I`m presently on the 18T, have a 16T to try but not sure if i`ll loose climbing ability with it. I`m on 26" wheels btw. Tbh i find i`m changing two gears at a time with this setup, could do with only 4 or 5 i...
