new tyres for my Vado 4….Wow!

Well, after a couple of punctures recently in my Pathfinder tyres I decided it was time to experiment with some new an hopefully more robust tyres. It’s just NO fun trying to change a tube in the Scottish winter weather, and even though I had slime in the tubes I still go the punctures. Both...

Noisy Brakes on 2022 Turbo Vado 4

The brakes on my turbo Vado 4 are really noisy, never had this issue on my 2019 model. They sound like they are worn or contaminated in some way, but they have not done many miles and don’t look worn. When you apply the brakes you get a real scuffing noise…and from the front you get an alarming...

    2022 Vado Inner Tube size

I find tyre and tube sizes a bit confusing. My 2022 Vado 4 has 650b rims with pathfinder sport reflect 650bx2.3 tyres. I believe these are 27.5 size wheels? My 2020 Vado had 700c rims….29inch? The 2022 Vado also uses the Schrader valve rather than the presta. i like to carry a spare tube but not...

    Arghhhhh! My New Bike😡😡

Well first time out on my (nearly) new 2022 Vado 4 and I accidentally knocked the Mastermind Display and one of the tabs has sheared off! Gutted to say the least😟😟😟 it is rather flimsy and must happen a lot. Does that mean a complete new display or can the circular bit on the back with the tabs...

Converting Vado 4 to Mountain Bike

Having just taking delivery of my almost brand new 2022 Turbo Vado I am now wondering what to do with my 2020 Vado. It is such a fine bike as well. We have a place in Fuerteventura and I’d would quite like to have an ebike out there but the terrain is a little more rugged than the cycle paths...

Trunk Bag for 2022 Turbo Vado

I’ve just take delivery of a Virtually new Vado 4 from ebikebuyer.com to replace my 2020 model…I just wanted a bigger battery that the new model offers and also all the other improvements. The bike has only done 17 miles and is immaculate….I’m having it checked over by my LBS before I go on any...

    New Chain Woes

I’m having issues with a new chain(s) which I fitted to my Vado 4. It happens with both Shimano and KMC chains. I thought originally it might be because the Shimano chain was different from KMC(fitted when the bike was new), but fitting a new KMC chain causes the same problem The problem is that...

Well…today I got the chance to try out the Handlebar Jack after gettimg a puncture cycling along the towpath of the Union Canal near Ratho in Scotland(the rain stopped for the day🌞), caused by a splinter of wood through the Smart Sam Plus rear tyre. I can report that this is an excellent...

    Ebikes….Cheating?

I had an interesting encounter with a jogger on a very remote single track road near Balquhidder in the Trossachs…one of the many beautiful cycle ways in Scotland. I was cycling along the road without any assist as I had reached the 15.5 mph when the assist switched off. up front was a lone...

    Grinding noise whilst rotating peddles

Whilst replacing the chain on my Vado 4 today I noticed that when I rotate the pedals backwards there is a slight grating/grinding noise and it feels rough. It doesn’t happened on my wife’s (newer) Vado 4. Anyone else experienced this or know what it might be?

    Changing Vado 4 brake pads.

After reading various other posts on here I decided it was time I checked my own brake pads rather than getting the LBS to do it. And I am so glad I did…they were completely shot! I got the old pads out fine B01S, then popped into my LBS for replacements. I managed to get the pistons back in and...

    Equal Partners

Took the plunge yesterday and bought my wife the same Turbo Vado 4 as myself, to replace her Raleigh Motus. Only difference is it’s the step through model and It must be about the only one available in the UK in medium size at the moment! Found it in an LBS and it’s a nice Forest green colour...

    Alternative Turbo Vado 4 tyres

I’ve got Specialized Trigger Sport tyres on my Turbo Vado 4. Generally they are ok but when I hit a patch of mud they are really scary...in fact I nearly end up in the Union Canal last week when I hit a patch of mud on the tow path! Looking for an alternative that might give me a bit more...
