Speaking of expensive hobbies, spotted near the coffee shop the missus and I like to ride to... Dreamed of a '57 Chevy with a big V8 as a teen in the 60s. Wonder what this one's worth in 2026?

Never realized how true that idiom is till I made the mistake of asking Google to see pigs in lipstick. Not a single one looked good.

There's always the spousal discount: Whatever the bike outlay, tell the missus it cost half that — but only if she asks. Whatever you do, don't say, "But honey, what about all those shoes??"

    Just for fun...

Certainly a kernel of truth here, but it IS a caricature. I sometimes ride with a group of 50-80-something roadies — all very nice folks who LOVE cycling and in most cases have been doing it avidly for decades. True, lots of fancy weigh-nothing (unmotorized) road bikes and sponsor-covered...

    Hello to EBR forum member

Welcome aboard! Several thoughts for you... 1. Figure out how you'll get local service on your new ebike in advance. Buying from a local authorized dealer is the surest way and has other benefits as well. Some shops only service what they sell, and some won't work on ebikes at all. Any shop...

    Fun with AI

Nah, they just got into a slide trying to keep up with your ferocious descent. What surprises me is how much AI gets right in these reference-image transformations. In my dog examples above, it often had to come up with features not shown in the original. And its solutions were completely...

    Fun with AI

Recently posted some experiments with the AI tool in my Samsung phone's image editor. These reference-image transformations used the "create" mode to modify my bike in various ways. This could actually be useful. This morning, I let the the "style" mode loose on my dog, who's already a 10/10 on...

    Where we are in 2026

The author makes an important point. My buddies and I roamed all over the outer suburbs of Charlotte, NC on our bikes as early teens in the 1960s. The whole area was our "third place", and it was the best part of growing up there. Glad ebikes have given current teens a third place to grow up...

Why do you think they bent the top tube like that? Doubt it's just styling. Seems like it would reduce the frame's in-plane rigidity, but it could soften the ride on bumpy surfaces.

Make that cheese factor 11. Watched some UK sci-fi TV of that era for kicks last year. Don't recall the shows, but this clip pretty much summed them up. They all seemed to be hoping for a sexier future in space.

    Hi

Welcome aboard! We'd love to see your bikes and the places you ride — guessing lots of places in your case! My 3 favorite forum threads are the ones for sharing ride photos. https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/2025-our-rides-in-words-photos-maps-and-videos.57230/...

2026 - Our Rides in Words, Photos, Maps and Videos

Gorgeous fall colors— and your bike's in fall camouflage! Really miss the fall color we got in Colorado. Here in coastal SoCal, most trees either stay green year round or just brown up and drop their leaves in a matter of days, no other colors involved.

    Conversion kit for a Stand-up bike 🤩

Welcome aboard! Very cool machine. Love the color. I see 1-2 of these stand-ups a week — almost always on our rolling Coast Highway. Look like a lot of fun, but I'm still trying to figure out the use case. First thought was for folks after a hydrid running+cycling experience. Maybe also for...

Absolutely gorgeous! Love black on white. Not that a bike like that needs upgrading, but I know how cyclists work. Any mods planned?

You're getting a Pinarello Dogma, right? They've had some Dogma Fs on the floor — even more gorgeous in person, as images don't do the 3D aero sculpting justice.
