Lady cyclist killed in Davis involving juvenile on ebike...on the bike path.

There was a real estate boom in the 1970's. I grew up in Orange County, CA. Around 1972 my grandparents on my father's side passed away and my dad used his inheritance to buy a $100,000 home on 1/2 an acre in a ritzy neighborhood of Anaheim called Peralta Hills down the street from his best...

    Cracked Allant rear rim

You can build a wheel without a truing stand. You turn the bike upside down and use the fork for a stand and some zip ties for gauges. I have a truing stand (and dishing tool, etc), but it sits in the garage collecting dust most of time. It's nice to have when you need it, but you can also pay a...

    remagnetize a generator?

A direct drive bicycle motor can be used as a generator. That's how regen braking works. We don't spend much time worrying about our motors demagnetizing, but overheating your motor can demagnetize it...

    Bourbon

Well, I didn't expect this thread to go from good bourbon to hooch. I can't say I have ever tried moonshine. I did once get blackout drunk on tequila in college and haven't drank it since. I haven't blacked out again either.

The thing they don't understand is that most of us boomers were once 24 year old renters just like them. Nobody wants to pay their dues these days.

    Bourbon

So I am a big fan of Knob Creek 9. That's my go to bourbon. I decided to try Knob Creek Single Barrel tonight, also aged 9 years. 120 proof and I can't taste anything except the spice of the alcohol. I poured it on the rocks, so it is diluted a little. It's okay, but I think I prefer the...

    remagnetize a generator?

6 or 7 years between power outages? I can't remember going 6 or 7 months. So Cal Edison really sucks that last few years.

    remagnetize a generator?

My Onan home standby generator has a maintenance cycle where it runs itself once a month for about an hour. I have an auto-transfer switch and it does run for a few minutes after switching back to city power. It will be 25 years old next year and still works. Knock on wood. I get it serviced...

It could be a loose connector.

    Garage Bike Floor Stand

Just in case you are talking about a floor parking stand, I use this one from Bikehand. However, it doesn't seem to be available from Amazon any longer:

    Garage Bike Floor Stand

I am not sure what you mean by vertical bike stand. I use the Feedback Sports Pro Elite work stand. It works great for me. All my bikes have fenders. There is a thread on here about work stands with mechanical and electric lifts built in if that is what you are looking for. I think both Park...

Zee-braa. I tried to put crosswalk in the translator and it just gives me crosswalk back: https://gotranscript.com/translation-services/american-to-british#text

I had to look up what a zebra crossing is. It's British for crosswalk. At first I thought this was a story from Africa or something.

    What's the name ??

There are two wheel recumbents. See Indianajo's links above.

    What's the name ??

It's a recumbent, or just 'bent for short. I can't speak to brands as I have never ridden one.

    EBMX X-9000 V2 Controller Kit

This is an ebike forum. Most people here don't ride e-motorcycles. You might get a better response at Endless Sphere, which is a DIY EV forum.

Wahoo ELEMNT Ace (on Specialized E-Bikes)

Capacitive touchscreens don't work well in the rain. It's a limit of the technology and not Wahoo's fault. Resistive touchscreens don't work as well and you would be a lot more frustrated using one. They are not as sensitive because they work on pressure and they don't support multitouch for...

Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon NP route suggestions? NOW MOOT

There is always a good book, a camp chair, and a beverage of your choice. My parents liked to fish there. But if you go in the spring, the water may be too fast with the snow melt. There are some swimming holes as well. Our trip last year was to spread my parents ashes in Kings Canyon as it...

Yosemite, Sequoia, and Kings Canyon NP route suggestions? NOW MOOT

I was in Sequoia and Kings Canyon about a year ago. I wasn't looking for it, but I don't remember many bike friendly roads and people do drive fast on the main road into Kings Canyon. Of course, you can tool around the campgrounds and picnic areas. You can go down to visit Grant's tree by road...

Everyday is Bike to Work Day?

I work remotely half the time. My work apartment is less than a mile from the office. I tried riding in a few times, but it just isn't worth it. I get more exercise walking to the office. Which i do unless it is raining.
